I have occasionally needed to delete a comment I make in the forum but, when I try, I get this message flagged up in a box:

You don’t have permission to delete this topic. If you really want it to be deleted, submit a flag for moderator attention together with reasoning’
I can understand not being allowed to delete other people’s comments but surely should be able to delete my own!
I guess you could edit it? If you didn’t start the thread and it’s just a comment, you could go back via the edit option and just write “[comment deleted]”.
[Edit: I also thought it was a short time window to edit your comments, but here I am the next day, and I think something else I recently edited was like two or three days before.

I don’t think THS owns the forum technology, so it’s possible the setting can’t be changed by them. Idk, but I’ve encountered this format of forum before, and as the forum is a nice perk but isn’t integral to THS’ core business, it wouldn’t really make sense to devote resources to tweaking the forum tech anyway.
If it’s an easy settings adjustment for them, great. Otherwise, @ABGM’s solution seems like a good workaround?

On one occasion, I contacted the moderators about this topic, and the response was that it’s not possible nor is it planned to be. We can’t delete them, but we can edit them instead.

Discord permits users to delete their own messages; click three dots (More) under the message, then DELETE (trashcan), Confirm.
However, channel owners/admins can override that permission. In such a case only admins/mods with “Manage Messages” permission enabled in their role can delete messages.

Deleting posts was possible earlier, but it was restricted since Nov 2023.
If you’re allowed to edit your post, can’t you just delete everything you wrote and then write “I have deleted my post” and hit reply. That’s all people will see.

This is a ridiculous “improvement:” they made. If you edit your comment and write: “My comment needed to be deleted” or whatever you write, the mods seem to delete it later.
