Continue button greyed out

Hi I’m completely new to this so apologies if it should be obvious.
I want to apply for a sit, I tick the dates and then apply. This takes me to THS advice page with ‘continue’ button at the bottom this button is greyed out. What do I do now?

Have you paid for your membership or are you using a free membership ‘trial’

The free option only lets you see what is available. You have to be a paid member before you can start to send applications

Thanks for the reply, but yes I am a paid member and on a couple of occasions I’ve managed to get the continue button to work by fiddling. I’m fed up with this and am looking for a proper solution.

Are you using the App or webpage ?

On the web page you have to enter a minimum of 50 characters before you can select “submit” … but I’m not sure that you are getting that far in the process or if the problem is occurring before that -

From my experience most glitches on the App have been solved by deleting the App and re-installing it ….

I’m using the app for my applications and I’ve tried your suggestion to reinstall to no avail :slightly_frowning_face:

Hi @Barrykw. After you have ticked the dates then pressed the Apply to sit, it should come up as ‘Write your application’. There is a circle with an i beside this heading which you have obviously clicked according to your screenshot. Don’t click it and you should be right to write your application! As you are completely new to this, I would strongly suggest you draft your application first. Good luck!

Have you completed your profile in full, including requesting at least one reference?

Also - have you tried THS’ support chat? It will give you a series of suggestions from ‘Frankie’ the AI bot, but if none of those responses work, you can ask to speak with a human

Thank you for all the responses. Taking them in order :- when I click apply I go straight to the screenshot, I do not pass go and I definitely do not collect £200.
Yes my profile is OK if not great and I have managed to make a couple of applications.
I hate bots but I did try it didn’t seem to understand my problem.

On live chat :speech_balloon: ( :robot: Frankie ) you can ask to speak to a human .

I just did a test & started the application process to see where you got that screen shot page from (I’ve never seen it before!). It looks like you pressed the little ‘i’ icon directly after ‘Write your application’ That leads nowhere- its just an info page.

I made screenshots (below) showing the order of events. In pic 3 you see the ‘i’ icon. If you press it you get the page you showed above. Don’t press it! Just start writing your application and the ‘press continue’ button will go green…

Probably! Something new to confuse the newbies!:woozy_face:
It may have always been there but I think most people wouldn’t bother to click on it - as ‘Write your Application’ is pretty self explanatory!

I had that same issue with the app last year and nothing I did would fix it, including uninstalling & reinstalling the app multiple times. I emailed THS support & they escalated it as a Samsung Android device bug & it eventually just got sorted out. I just used the website for applications in the meantime.
