Dashboard page on drop down

Am I missing something, when I log in and go to my photo and hit the dropdown it only comes up with favourites, past sitters, settings and log out. Where is my dashboard or do I have to navigate to find it.

It sounds like you have an owner account (not sitter)? And it sounds like you might be on desktop (not mobile)?

As a sitter, the dashboard is my first option in my dropdown:

Maybe some other HOs can advise if things are set up differently on those accounts…

thanks scallyway, you are right that I am on a desktop - I don’t own a laptop and yes I am a homeowner. It has always been the case that Desktop was the first thing on my dropdown but now I only get what I listed. I have tried reaching out to the bot but it doesn’t understand my question. It just all seems to have changed since I had my last listing in February for a sitting in April. They seem to mess about with things.

I have just tried on my phone and it comes up with exactly the same i.e. favourites, past sitters etc.

With so many different types of hardware and software (including different updates / versions) no company will be able to keep them all synced up or working universally. That’s the case even with companies much bigger and better resourced than THS.

Related to the above, sometimes features stop functioning, because they’re no longer supported on some versions, some updates, etc.

And there’s always potential for human error when a company updates apps / platforms as well.

Generally, the newer your devices and the better updated your software / apps, the better your experience will be.

Thank you Jenny but your explanation is as clear as mud. Why would the first thing I want to see be someone I made a favourite (in my case a lady from around 7 years ago), the I can look at past sitters - I know who has sat for me in the past and I know how to contact them if I want to see if they are interested in returning. And then the next dropdown is settings. How often am I going to go on this except to check when my subscription is due or if I might want to change passwords etc. To top it off I now cannot find a dropdown to lead me to Forums and had to get onto this by the link on your email.

Can you people stop messing around with things when no-one (that I know of) asked you to mess around. I use the site about 2 or 3 times a year and every time I come on I have to re-learn where everything is. The worst thing you did was limit us to 5 applications as if we were not grown up enough to put a stop on when we thought we had enough to cope with. After the 5 I delete one who and another pops up and 5 does not give a chance for a good comparison. Out of my recent 5 only 2 are suitable, one withdrew, one read our address wrong and one just took themselves away. Leaving us with just 2, not much of a choice.

Now, can you tell me how I get onto my Dashboard and also now, how do I find the Forum as it didn’t even work when I typed trustedhouse…/forum, which just took me to the main site with no link to this forum.

With regards to the Forum URL, that doesn’t look like the right link, you would just need to type https://forum.trustedhousesitters.com/ into your browser to access the Forum homepage.

Thanks Jenny, I will change my instructions for getting onto the forum, although I just had to click the link on my Dashboard before. Have a nice weekend, don’t lose any sleep over the mess tech have made. I still have one person to talk to so hopefully I will have found my sitter despite the site making it so difficult.

Ahh ok @frenchlife - I’ll ask them to double check what link they’re using on the dropdown as it sounds like that might be the issue. Apologies if I misunderstood what you meant about accessing the Forum.

Back already @frenchlife - here’s what I’ve got from the team for now.

The team confirmed the correct Forum URL with me, so this issue might need another look if you’re not being directed to the Forum from the drop-down menu.

With regards to viewing your dashboard, the team explained that you can access the dashboard by clicking the logo or clicking the Sits link in the new header.

That explanation might help but pass on to tech that it should not be necessary to have to teach a long term user how to do the basics just because they have ‘improved’ the site. Been with you since 2017 and tech are always throwing a spanner in the works. Go enjoy your weekend :innocent:
