Disappearing Communications on THS Platform

Hi, Is anyone else experiencing missing messages or responses on the Trusted House Sitters Platform? I’ts happens to me twice this week. Both when responding to an uploaded welcome guide and again when I reached out to a pet parent and heard no response, I see that my message is not there anymore. I like to encourage use of the web site to keep communications “professional” I hesitate to just pick up the phone and go over details or have them text me personally- recently a pet parent harassed me over a a 5 star rating that wasn’t to her liking.

This has happened to me over the last couple of months but only on one particular HO that we’ve tried to message both on the App and webpage . I typed out the messages and sent them 3 times but the never appeared on the chat .
In the end I messaged THS and they messaged the owner on my behalf . I’ve asked for another way of contacting the HO but they’ve not provided it yet
It’s very odd as I’ve been able to message other HOs with no trouble

A lot of my messages from the TH platform winds up in my junk file. I now check it along with my regular email address. What do you mean you were harassed over a 5 star rating?

Yes, I have had some disappearing messages. I sent them and then when I went back they weren’t there.
I also submitted an application, which took about half an hour to write and it also disappeared. By the time I realised the sit with closed.

Yes, this has happened to me 3 times in the past month with 3 different homeowners. After the first time, if I’m writing at any length, I now copy my message before I hit the Send button. A weird and inconsistent glitch.

A while back a host who we had previously sat for sent some messages through THS to which I replied .
Soon after these two e-mails sent by the host completely disappeared from the inbox (and as we know you can’t delete e-mails from inbox )
I know that I didn’t just imagine having received the messages because I had replied to a couple . My replies are still there but look very random as the messages I was replying to aren’t there !

Around the same time another forum user reported that their sent messages were being sent to different recipient than the one they were intending to message due to a system glitch.

I messaged my next host twice, it disappeared too. Lucky I could what’s app but THS needs to sort this

Hi everyone,

Thanks for sharing, with your help we’ve been able to identify and reproduce the bug causing this.

We’re still investigating so I don’t have a fix timescale just now, in the meantime you may have more success sending messages by selecting the Inbox tab directly (rather than via ‘confirmed sit’ and choosing ‘chat to’ name).

Note: The issue isn’t yet fixed, but to increase the visibility of this message and the workaround, I’m going to mark it as the solution.
