Looks funny, but it’s actually meant to help dogs with a condition called megaesophagus. They can’t swallow food properly in a head down position (or something like that).

It is sweet though, that the dog is so perfectly trained that he puts the tray table down himself

Then I change the title… and on the FB video, you’re right the dog pushes the tray table. Then I was totally wrong.

It’s still funny how ready the dog was to pull down the traytable. Some breeds are very helpful when it comes to feeding times!

Thank you for sharing @Candide and for your helpful comment @Harris2

For anyone interested in knowing more about this condition here’s some additional information as we may just find ourselves asked to care for a dog with the condition, which is very manageable.

  • Bailey Chairs are used to keep the dog in an upright position for at least 10 minutes, preferably 20-30 minutes, preventing most of the food and liquid from accumulating in the esophagus. These chairs look like highchairs for dogs and can be custom-built for growing puppies and all sizes of adult dogs.

Do you think that special chair is sold or the owner made it on purpose ?
I have never seen that in pets shops

They’re called Bailey chairs and are sold online. But if someone is handy, they could probably build their own as well.

I use the Ruffwear chain reaction dog collar and it’s very useful for a dog owner.

hahahaha is so funny!
