I realise this maybe shouting into the void but I thought a post on EASY FIXES may get some traction. EASY FIX #1 Allow HOs to choose how many applications they receive.
What’s your EASY FIX suggestion for THS?

To be able to block listings we never want to apply for and for searches to bring up the actual place searched, not 50+ miles away
Allow HO to block fully inappropriate applicants (eg families) and block inappropriate sitters from re-applying unless HO checks re-applying is ok.
The ability to see all messages when you have had previous contact with a host. It was possible in the past. Very frustrating.
To have a workable calendar where I can block dates when I’m not available ie holidays. Can’t be that hard.
To allow a member to directly flag a listing that needs review by staff as it doesn’t comply with rules eg room mates on site
The ability to filter a search by a maximum number of pets the sitter is willing to sit
To filter by how long the dogs can be left for (our number is 4 hours).
Yes! Yes! Yes! The reddit crowd would love this.
Replace the legend/key on the availability calendar. How hard can it be?
A gentle reminder to anyone who may be newer to Trusted Housesitters.
If you see something that doesn’t look right on a profile or listing, you can report it to a staff member for review via Frankie (our automated chat bot).
@Snowbird just to confirm, I know you mean via a flag button (or similar) on the app/website itself. ![]()

YEP!!! I recommended this years ago when they first made it a 5 application limit rule!!
HO’s should be allowed to decide how many they want to vet!!
My other “easy fix” is to allow us to “hide” any listings we know we will never be interested in (like the opposite of “saving” or “favoriting” a listing) so we don’t have to keep looking at the same listings over and over.
Last is to have a category for “Europe without the UK” and “Europe with the UK”.
Many of us veterans know this but flagging it would be so much simpler.
@carpediem16 I really get annoyed after reporting a listing to get the “How Did We Do?” email after the “specialist” had sent the standard response, considering it was THS that had the problem, not me being kind in reporting it. IF I complete the question, it’s a No and why but, of course, I’m sure my response is ignored.
Fix the messaging system so we can search. It’s ridiculous to have to scroll through 100s of messages to find someone that I’ve been in contact with previously. The old messaging system had a search function, so I don’t understand why they removed it in the new system. It’s an easy fix.
I’ve given up on expecting “easy fixes”. I’m all about the work arounds.
Make the app & website consistent with the information both show
Add a ‘are your dates flexible?’ option for HOs - if HO selects yes, they can then indicate how flexible they are, e.g. 1+ day, 2+ days etc’. It would be helpful if this could appear on the fixed righthand side of listings. I doubt THS will change this, but as a sitter I would prefer to be able to contact HOs with flexible start/end dates even if I’ve booked another sit.
