I’ve been sitting with TH since 2019 so lots of messages in my inbox/archive - but I’ve not found a way to search those messages (and I see the archive only goes back to 2022 - has anything prior been lost?).
So now I see a sit that I want to apply for- and when I click the apply button I get a message that I’ve already contacted this HO. But no easy way to find my prior application/messages with the HO until I submit the new application. So I don’t know if the HO turned me down, or I withdrew because I got a sit for the dates, or the HO cancelled the sit. If the HO turned me down I won’t apply again but I don’t know that - so now I open those apps writing, “sorry if you turned me down in the past, I know I’ve contacted you before but until I submit the current app I can’t see our prior messages.”
So I’m suggesting a search function for the inbox and archive. Search on a keyword, which could be the HO’s name in the listing or the location of the sit.
Maybe this exists already but I can’t find it.
I’m still hoping for just a delete option… I wouldn’t think that it would be a big deal, apparently it is. It’s been asked about for years.
I hadn’t noticed the issues with the “new” inbox as a sitter, but for hosts it’s awful. There is no way to find old messages so same issue but from the other side. I want to know about a previous interaction and I can’t find it. Or i remember some sitter who sounded really nice but there was some issue with the date or something and there’s no way to find them again. Hosts used to be able to “sort” sitters. You couldn’t delete a message but you classify – not suitable, favorite, possible. I don’t remember the exact categories but that’s gone too so really difficult to go back to previous interactions.
It would be lovely if THS looked at our feedback & took it seriously. There could be so many improvements to enhance our experience and make life easier for us! Instead they ‘fix’ things that don’t need fixing!
I’m a member of another housesitting platform which makes far less money than this yet they listen to their members & make appropriate adjustments.
I have raised this issue countless times.
I recently wrote to Membership Services who just said that they had passed my comments on.
Perhaps if we all wrote to MS they may understand the problems that their new “Improved” Inbox has caused
I don’t think we should have to write to MS when there is a category here for feedback. Someone should be assigned to read it and get it actioned.
