No ability to search for sitting jobs by soonest
No filter to show only house sitting jobs currently open and available exclusively g reviewing or house owners that do not have a sitting job
No ability to search on suburb and miles / Kilometers radius around that suburb

Here you will find plenty of peer to peer support, we are not employees of THS. 
I may be able to answer part of your query— I have let my membership expire, so I am not able to do a search to refresh my memory right now. However, if I recall correctly, the listings that aren’t currently active should be shown at the bottom of the page, providing a modicum of separation from the active ones.
Have you tried the “Map view” to zoom in the areas of interest? Doing this should make it easier to guesstimate the distance from the centre.
I am not sure if you are familiar with THS but they don’t offer sitting jobs, just exchanges.
Good catch! That detail in the post eluded me. 
The map view is clunky you have to hit button on bottom to refresh. Make it easy just an auto refresh rather than another button to press
