Hi we are new to the site and think it is a great idea. However we have not had any interest from sitters- is it because we have three ( well behaved) dogs? Or is it the location? Any ideas gratefully received ! Thank you

Hi @JuliaS ,

There could be a few reasons why you still have had no response from sitters.

When did you add your listing?, what dates are you looking to find sitters for?

You will need to link your listing to your forum profile so that group members can take a look at your listing and see if they can offer any advice - here is a guide to show you how to do that…

As @Colin mentioned, if you could link your TrustedHousesitters profile on to your Forum profile by following his attached link, this will then enable others on here to offer you helpful advice and feedback regarding your listing.

Oh your doggies look so sweet! I really like the way you wrote your listing by asking sitters things like “please would you walk…” for example! If we were available and had a car we would love to come sit for you, as we would feel welcomed from the start.
Your listing is “new” so it might not have been seen my many yet:did you post it a long time ago? Also, sits that are more rural might get less applications simply because not everybody has a car or can rent one.
Is there any shop walking distance? Because if there is, then some sitters might just need help getting to your place and then walk everywhere once there. If it is the case, mention it as more people might be able to apply

Hi @JuliaS & welcome. Looks like a cute sit, maybe because a lot of sitters aren’t yet looking post Christmas for a non city/tourist attraction type sit could be one reason. You have loads of time to find someone great for the gang. Change the first pic to one of the dogs, super cute. The bed doesn’t grab attention. See if you can add some photos with sunshine too as apparently Blighty is blue skies right now! Could you lend the sitters your car? If so that will add appeal for a rural sit so please add that tag. Loads of discussions and advice on the forum of you use the spyglass as well. Best of luck :raised_hands:t3:

You mention walking the dogs in the morning, but you don’t mention when, how, how many times a day they need to be let out or walked for a quick relief break. Sitters need to know how much time they’ll have to be out, so if you can include that it would be great. Probably sitters will need a car. If they can use yours that could be helpful – not required, but it could help attract sitters.

Thank you for your advice! I can definitely add those details as we have a dog flap which makes life much easier
