Hello, we are Vanessa and Jetta. We are international travelers and we absolutely love animals. We believe that the best way to learn about the world, other cultures, and languages, is through travel. So, we left the United States in 2017 to travel indefinitely. In the last 2 years, we have had the wonderful pleasure of House/Pet Sitting for some really amazing people and pets. So far we have completed 1 sit in South Africa, 6 in New Zealand, and 1 in Japan. We look forward to exploring, even more, when it is safe to travel again.

How is the travel situation in Mexico? It’s not somewhere we get much news from, outside of North America anyway, would be great to hear a local perspective.

Travel here in Mexico is still happening. The tourists have been visiting which is probably one of the reasons why the Covid numbers continue to rise. Travel out of the country does require a negative Covid test, not sure about domestic travel.

Hello Vanessa and Jetta! Where is Mexico are you? I’ve travelled around Cancun and the region. Wondering if you’ll have the chance to visit Cuba? It is phenomenally inexpensive to go there from Mexico because it is so close - highly recommended. Regards, Lisa

Welcome to you both! We spent 8 month of a year h/s in Mexico and travelling and it remains one of our favourite all time destinations. Had we not decided to stay in Europe for a bit, it was our choice of destination for a repeat stretch. Such a wonderful country, people and culture - it sat very well with us 
Where are you based? We know lots of sitters currently long term based in SMA, Guanajuato and Ajijic - it’s a country that fosters great expat / house sitting communities.

We started out in Merida… not house sitting but using airbnb stays in the region. When you get to start to traveling further afield you’ll find such a contrast between the different cities and areas. Enjoy!
