Hello from Shrewsbury UK. The birthplace of Charles Darwin. We are a retired husband and wife team with 15 sits so far. 14 all have 5* reviews, but one - well lets say, we were mislead from the start of communications. We didn’t bother to ask for a reference. Our first sit was 2016, and we hope to start again this year. We are looking for UK assignments only, and sits with Mini Schnauzers are especially appealing to us. So far we’ve cared for dogs. cats, birds, poultry, alpaca, rabbits, guinea pigs. Sorry, we draw a line at requests for snakes!

Welcome! We’ve been house sitting for about the same length of time I think. You are lucky there are so many sits available in the UK.
I am hoping to visit the Shrewsbury area some day because I have ancestors who lived there. Always fun to combine genealogy and house/pet sitting!

Hi @CandAsitters welcome to our community forum and thank you for that little bit of history, I never knew it was the birthplace of Charles Darwin, Thank you for being part of our wonderful community since 2016 I’m sure you have some great stories and do you remember all of the pets names? I remember those better than the humans.
Sits in the UK are growing again as owners have the confidence to revisit travel plans and with restrictions being lifted gradually, hopeful by the June deadline we will all be able to resume our pet and housesitting lifestyle that we are missing so much.

Where in Shropshire did your ancestors live? Shrewsbury is just one small town in a large county. We love living here but good to sit in other places.

Hi from Biloxi,Mississippi! I’m new to THS with only 2 sits but they have been amazing! We just got back from Santa Fe New Mexico. Absolutely beautiful desert and mountains. I can’t wait till travel resumes to the UK . We did a tour of Southern England gardens in June . The most gorgeous gardens ever ! I hope to return next year .

Florida.
We actually stayed in a casino .

I actually visited there briefly, drove thru, one quick stop at a church, in 2018. Really want to go back and spend more time. But my GGG? grandfather left there in 1840s so…

No sorry is that in Prees? I know a lady I can ask. Meanwhile, as we drove through Prees at 10.30 this morning on the way to our Narrowboat, I videod our journey. Not certain if this the place to show it. I can WhatsApp it to you if you’d like to see it?
