Hello everyone, I’m new here and already have a sit within two days in the UK, which is fabulous and shows this process works for everyone!
I am British, female, aged 60 and vegan. I’m an experienced pet sitter and have references on my Facebook pet-sitting page. I have regularly done home-exchanges with my own property in Cyprus so I deeply value tidiness, cleanliness and simplicity, therefore, you can rest assured that your home will be cared for and maintained at a high standard, making things much easier and comfortable for you on your return.
If you allow me the opportunity to house and pet sit for you I will look after your home and animals as if they were my own. I love being active so will enjoy taking your animal/s on daily walks or runs to maintain their regular routine.
I’m available to house/pet sit in the UK from the end of November for 3 months or longer, visas and travel restrictions permitting! I’m currently in Albania but have to leave by December 1st. I am open to house or pet sitting anywhere and would love Central America or South America from January. I would be delighted if the sits were longer-term (1-3 months). I can stay longer in the UK and Cyprus and up to 6 months in Mexico.
Hope to interact and maybe meet some of you soon!
Yvette
Hi Yvette and welcome to the forum from another UK sitter. Great to hear that you have already secured your first sit on THS.
I’d love to hear more about Albania, somewhere I know very little about. We have a Travel Talk category on the forum where we can share places we have travelled.
Albania is just amazing, I’m in Saranda just off Corfu, I didn’t expect it to be so lovely. I’ve had a few people ask me to look after their dogs recently here but I don’t think its really a big thing as yet as its only just becoming that well-known a place for ex-pats to live, a hidden secret I think! I would definitely recommend a holiday here, its so cheap and very upmarket compared to other resorts that Ive been too, which I really didn’t expect. Still 30 degrees here too
I can recall a ‘do - it- myself-travel’ holiday years ago, when I flew into Corfu for onward travel by boat to (eventually) Parga in Greece. The boat out of Corfu hugged the Albanian coast. It was beautiful. It was about 5am and just sun-up, and I was surrounded by goats and chickens on the boat!
@Yve
Welcome to the forum and THS. I’m also in the UK Edinburgh is my home. I’m cat sitting near Aberdeen Scotland at the moment.
Bit hot in Albania for me but sounds interesting. Does it get cold in the winter or is it fairly mild ?
Thank you! I think it’s warmish in the daytime but quite cold at night come November, I leave at the end of November for the UK, so I’ll freeze over there! I like to be warm. I would like to come to Scotland one day but in Summer I think
