DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE HOLIDAY SONG THAT PUTS YOU RIGHT IN THE MOOD FOR SOME FESTIVE ACTIVITIES?

There are so many Holiday songs out there for various festive celebrations. Do you have one that stands out to you? Maybe as soon as you hear it you want to start celebrating….even if you hear it in the middle of the summer?
My favorite is always “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas”…”with candy canes and silver lanes aglow”, Written by Meredith Wilson in 1951… Whenever I hear it I just visualize New York City and all the store front window displays, snow falling on the streets and the holiday lights…….Everywhere! I have never made it to New York City for Christmas, but it is definitely on my bucket list. Hopefully, in the next two years!
Tell us what what that song might be, maybe even include a few lines to the song so we can see if we are familiar with it!

A big thank you to @Debbie-L for creating this festive musical post … don’t forget to share your favourites and help bring some holiday “sing a long” cheer to our forum

My favourite definitely has to be 'Driving home for Christmas '. Driving home from work on the Friday evening before the Christmas break with that song playing is the best feeling. Having said that, i could happily sing and dance around the house to Mariah Carey’s 'All i want for Christmas ’ any time of the year!

@Mandy194 YES!!
I love many of the traditional standards but there’s just something about it that lifts the spirit, for me it’s the piano!!
Sound full on, singing at the top of my voice in the car or the kitchen.
My son hates it and last Christmas was our first together as a family in 8 years … when David arrived and walked through the door … cue Chris Rea … on loop, he smiled
“Top to toe in tailbacks
Oh, I got red lights all around, uh
I’m driving home for Christmas, yeah
Get my feet on holy ground”

One of my all-time favorite holiday tunes is “Linus & Lucy” by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. Does anyone else feel the same?

Watching the Peanuts Christmas special was a highlight for me and my friends growing up, and this song brings all of those happy childhood memories rushing back. My brother and sisters and I would twirl around our family room, silly dancing along with the Peanuts characters to this song. (We also danced to many of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker pieces, but Peanuts dancing was much more fun

Our house was always full of music, either my parents’ classical records, the local classical public radio station, or my mom’s piano playing. This song reminded me of Mom’s playing, but it was a new form of music I’d never heard before: jazz. Listening to this music every holiday season was the genesis for my life-long love of that home-grown music form.
Here’s to holiday silliness and great childhood memories! Thanks, @Angela_L and @Debbie-L for taking me down memory lane
