Home where I can drop off and pick up my dog regularly

Hello, I just joined this community. I am looking for people living very near me who like dogs and can allow me to drop off and pick up my dog on days when I need to head to the office which is on alternate days on weekdays. It alternates weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the following week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I live next to the Bishan park. My dog only needs companionship because he will be alone when I go to work, and brought twice to grass briefly for him to ease himself. I do the best before I drop him off and after I pick him up.

I am searching for homes that are open to such arrangement due to their love for dogs and because soon, my older dog will no longer be with us. I am looking for a place within walking distance as I don’t drive.

THS is designed as a mutually beneficial exchange between hosts and sitters. In return for providing free pet care, a sitter receives free accommodation. While it is possible someone on the site would be open to doing this for you–though probably highly unlikely-- I am not sure if a listing such as this would even be allowed. Even if it did slip by, it would probably be flagged very quickly by members. T

Unless you found a friend or neighbor who would be willing to take your dog into their home, you probably can’t find what you are looking for unless you use some sort of paid service. The statement about doing it for the ‘love of dogs’ gives the impression you are looking for someone to do this at no cost, but that could be an incorrect assumption.

Good luck!

Hello @WLJT and welcome. THS is a platform that exchanges free pet care for free accommodation so sitters on here would be looking to stay at your home to take care of your pets whilst you travel/work away etc. Unfortunately it’s not for drop off doggie day care. Borrow my Doggy does that if you’re UK based. #overnightdogstaysonly

Hello @WLJT,
Welcome to the forum

I think you mean the forum, I assume you have not paid to join THS as a Home Owner, otherwise you would know that this is not the place for that sort of agreement.

@KC1102 and @Cuttlefish have already explained how it works. I don’t know how Borrow my Doggy works but finding someone for free on such a regular and extended basis seems highly unlikely. You can try if you are in the UK.

Hi @WLJT

If you are UK-based, have a look at Rover where people offer this sort of service on a paid basis.

@WLJT - google ‘borrowmydoggy’

I think that site may be better suited to your needs

Where’s the Bishan Park? Granted that we are a community, but not in the geographical sense

You’re on the wrong platform, as other folks have mentioned.

If you can’t afford a sitter, you could consider posting on local Facebook groups, Nextdoor, Craigslist or such and offering to swap your labor in exchange for sitting. Like do chores, yard work or such in trade.

Thanks everyone, for your reply. I am based in Singapore, not sure if this website is based in the UK. I am happy to pay for services as I would expect there will hardly be anyone who would be happy for me to leave my dog with them without a fee.

There are quite a few FB pet sitting groups for Singapore @WLJT so those should help. Some offer free sitting but have a look. As you live there it’s easy to join them in the vetting questions. #bestofluck

If you can pay, look for other platforms and services that support that. By contrast, Trusted Housesitters supports trading sitting for housing, without money involved.

Google doggie daycare in your area or see if there are any dog walker type services in your area.
