How do we do just sits for others

Our puss passed away only 3 weeks ago and we are interested in doing sits for others but can’t work out how to change over.

I’m sorry you lost your kitty. I hope you are ok.
If you want to start pet-sitting, you’ll need to upgrade to a dual membership.

No, it should be possible to switch. I should hope that THS Membership Services can arrange that.

Agreed. Just send. A message to member services and they should be able to switch your account to HS as opposed to HO and then you can also tell them which tier you’d like to do.

Sorry to hear about your cat.

Apologies as I didn’t see the “change over” mention, in my head, Maree had reviews as a pet parent, that she’d probably want to keep on her THS pet parent profile (which would help her get sits as a new sitter, and maybe in the future, other sitters if she decided to go that route).
But @Maree you know better than us your situation, and the best advice is to explain your situation to member services so they can tell you what would happen to your parent profile, and decide if you want to only have a pet sitter profile, or a dual profile.

Yes, that is a good point.

But one could maybe solve part of that by making screen shots of the reviews and showing those in photographs.

So very sorry your dear puss has just recently passed away @Maree. With THS support, you should be able to either change to a sitter membership or for a fairly small extra fee, add sitter to your original membership so it becomes a combined membership.
I was in a similar situation 9 years ago when my elderly cat passed away. Two months later, I was on a plane from Australia to the UK to do my very first three sits. Although I no longer use my owner part of my membership, I still keep it because “you never know”!

They should be able to cancel for a pro-rated membership from HO to Sitter and have the pro-rated part of the membership switched to Sitter.

Sorry for your loss.

Combining the existing membership is easy. I think I got the system to invite me to combine the membership beause I was aspirationally looking at sits! But if that doesn’t happen to you: On your laptop or Mac (not sure on phone) go to your Dashboard. Click on Settings. Click on Membership.

If you combine, you’ll pay for combining for the rest of the term of your membership. If you are not planning to get another pet for now, I don’t know if there is a way to convert from one kind to the other, but it’s not a lot of money to add. If you turn off automatic renewal or talk to membership services, I’m sure you can switch to just one kind after the membership term ends. You can always ask if it’s possible to do it before.

If you do want sitters while you’re away to take care of plants, gardening, etc. of course you could do that with a combined membership even if you don’t have pets.

Very good point! I got sits right away and I think a large reason was the combined membership. I already had reviews attested to the cleanliness of my home and the good care my cats were accustomed to. It is very valuable for a sitter.

The other thing is: Even people decide they’re not going to be petparents anymore, the universe may have other plans.

Thank you Nadia for your advice. I’ve upgraded my basic membership but now when i type in where we would like to sit it keeps coming up with United States and won’t accept Australa. Obviously I need to change Profile for starters.

I have just upgraded to a Dual Membership. 5/05/24 Thomas was with us 16 1/2 years so we had him cremated so he’s still with us in spirit. I’ll gradually work out how things work, hubby just sits back and allows me to do the computer work.

Oh RIP gorgeous Thomas. We also got our kitty cremated years ago and have her urne in the living room, so she’s forever with us
