Hi, I have a few suggestions that would make it easier for me to use the website.
The search is for 1 month then jumps to 6 months. It would be great to have 2,3,4,5 months search filters
I would also appreciate 5 saved searches instead of just 3
I am not sure what information is given to the owners of pets, but I think it should be clearly stated that the exchange is for general care of the pet (walking, feeding, playing, giving meds if necessary, taking to vet if necessary, litter and poo cleanup, letting out to pee and poo at different times)- NOT TRAINING, NOT GROOMING. If the owner requests them, they should be paid services.
You can try but many of us who have been members for years have been asking for certain things to be implemented with no success. THS seem to change things that don’t need changing but not taking notice of the changes we suggest that would make our lives easier.
Yes I don’t even know what the point of the 6 month search is, there are only 2 of them in the world at the moment.
3 wks, 1 month, 2 month etc for the larger durations would be so convenient.
5 saved searches??? I’ve got 10 saved searches at the moment, or do you mean the 5 applicant thing? If it’s actual saved searches I’d contact support, because I’ve got more.
I believe you can have more saved searches over the app than over the web site.
I would like the “unlimited saved searches” that I was sold to really be unlimited, instead of being 50! I paid for a service, and sure I was fool to expect it to be delivered by THS.
I agree that training and grooming needs to be told upfront in the profile, but I also think that there should not be many limitations by THS platform. At the same time I am frustrated with hosts asking for too much… but I dont think there should be any automatic caps (someone suggested that no pets needing medication, but I have no problem adding a pill to someones evening meal - or indeed administering insulin shots, so I want these sits to remain).
I think grooming is a valid ask, especially with long haired dogs on wet days, no one wants them to have tangled hair, but if it is something you really don’t fancy you could discuss this at video call stage, or only sit for cats, small pets and farm animals.
The best search option would be a slider that you can set to any number of days. If that is not possible, then a few more options would be nice to have. It is indeed a big jump from 1 to 6 months, but also from 2 weeks to 1 month. Even something in between 1 and 2 weeks would be welcome. Most commercial package vacations for a week are actually 8 days and/or you expect the sitter to arrive the day before.
More saved searches is certainly appreciated, but I would even more enjoy the option to adapt/change your saved search. For example, I have now a search with a specific profile to run from early April onward for the rest of the year, but I have a confirmed for the first 2 weeks of April. I would love to adapt the start date, but cannot.
No sure I understand 1 & 2 above . And, 3 should (and please , certain person who might be reading this : your opinion on this verb is not needed as we’ve heard it ad nauseum) be a given !
In searching , I enter a start date (and locations if desired) and see every sit available from that date forward . So your comment about only seeing 1mo to 6mo is not my experience.
Amongst my favourited sits (which are in essence, “saved ”) , I click “accepting applications” and all of the relevant sits show up. No limit. Perhaps trying your searches this way will yield better results for you.
Finally, because there are already so many areas (“responsibilities, “details, “ “time pet can be left alone, “ etc.etc.etc.) that THS is requiring HO’s to list that it is bordering on juvenile, condescending and pointless - not for all of these categories, of course.
Rhetorical : At what point does common sense on the part of all parties dictate the obvious ? In other words, there are many obvious q’s that each party should ask. Having THS add to their menu is not the solution in my book. Communication is.
@Happyhome, welcome to THS Forum. #1 Great idea. Has been requested previously #2 Already possible. We typically have 20-25 Saved Search, for different locations; time periods; adhoc opportunities; etc #3 Yep. Pet Parent attitude (and perhaps Housesitter too) expectations on use of THS vary dramatically. Some expect free labour. This has been highlighted extensively on Forum (search for Marketing and you’ll find threads)
