Hi there,

As a pet sitter, I’d love to share a few suggestions that could help improve the user experience when searching for new sits.

1. More flexible date searching
When I have a confirmed sit, I often want to search for new opportunities from the end date of that sit onward. Right now, the search function seems to require very specific date ranges, and if a homeowner hasn’t listed those exact dates, no results appear. It would be extremely helpful if the search could show all sits that fall within a chosen time window—or sits that generally fit my availability based on my already-confirmed sits.

2. Ability to filter by number of pets
Being able to filter sits by the number of pets would make it much easier to find listings that are the right fit.

3. Improved navigation between pages
Currently, the pagination only shows pages 1, 2, and 3. There’s no way to jump to the first or last page, or to see more page options without clicking through everything. Adding the ability to navigate directly to other pages would make browsing much smoother.

These improvements would make searching more intuitive and save a lot of time for sitters like me.

  1. Maybe there’s a temporary glitch, but you can definitely search that way on a laptop. Just pop in your dates and everything within those dates for the area should show up. I’ve just done it, and it’s worked fine for me.

  2. True, definitely, I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but @Jenny may be able to pass that suggestion on.

  3. True, but I’m not sure if there’s a benefit of skipping to page 6, or the end page. There needs to be a real benefit for THS to warrant spending money on changing something, rather than focusing their efforts on other areas that really improve our whole experience.

@wellnesstravellife, welcome to THS Forum.
The first of your feedback items is easiest to answer. This is already possible. Suggest try again.

By way of example, say you setup a Search from 1 January to 31 December 2026. All housesits with dates that have start date and end date within search dates will be listed, provided that any other criteria (e.g. location, pets) are satisfied. For clarity, in such a search then listed items need not start on 1 January and finish on 31 December (would be a very long sit!)

I’m piggybacking on the other comments to say that if you also set a duration in your search, that will limit the list of sits. Clearing the duration will allow all sits that fall into your date range to appear.

I too would love to be able to limit number of pets. I see some people with multiple dogs or cats and it would be nice to filter them out. I know how many I can manage.
