Hi @Crookie - As @Carla is not online today, I will endeavour to answer.
The website inbox has been updated to be more in line with the App inbox. There are no immediate changes to the App inbox for the moment.
With the newly coded website inbox, it will now be easier for the tech team to add more functionality as we progress. @HappyDeb I am aware that the Search button function has already been fed back to the team as an important feature to re-add.
@tortimom@anon47943759 … In the new website inbox on the main thread in the middle, at the bottom right, there is an indication that your message ‘has been seen’.
Thanks. In addition, now that I am taking a closer look, I can only see the application itself, without any of the following conversations.
Also, the third column lists some errors instead of whatever was intended to show up there.

P.S. just found out what is causing the middle row to ‘slim down’ considerably, but I’ll keep it to myself. It will be interesting to see how long it takes ‘the team’ to figure it out. All I can say is, had the AAA accessibility standard been respected, it wouldn’t have happened
@anon47943759 … with regards to your last screenshot, perhaps log out and back in, checking your internet connection, and if this continues, please address this with membership services as they are best to help you.
With regards to the new website inbox unread/read indicator. This has changed now, so if there is no little eye ‘has been seen’ at the bottom of your message, this essentially means it has been unread. The App inbox will say ‘read’
The new inbox (on the website) indicates read msgs like this on my screen. It doesn’t indicate so on every msg — it does it on the last one if you’ve sent more than one msg in succession.
I soooo miss my labels. I had my categories, over the years I had, like, next time consider this sitter, sitting for me „date, do not like (yes sorry there were a few), and many more. so I could see right away what I was looking for. Now I have no other option than to do an excel
I know there are worse problems.
I haven’t posted here, but read often. As I am already writing I must admit that I am a huge fan of THS. We have had many sitters. All of them excellent, above and beyond what we asked of them. Each and every one of them we would ask again. And yes one sitter has come back I believe a TENTH time!!!
Thanks to all HO and sitters who make this platform work.
Hi @Jac
I also use labels.
Every day, I go into my inbox on the latest fomat. It gives me the option of switching to the old Inbox . I switch and can then view and create new labels.
If you go into your inbox it will state at the very top “If you want to change to the old Inbox click here”.
As I am back in the old inbox I cannot remember the exact wording.
As to how long we will be able to switch back - who knows but i am switching daily while I can
A million-dollar question: How does the HTML wizard who designed the new inbox expect me to draft, let alone edit, inspiring applications or any other communication in a textbox that is 4 lines high and 16 characters wide?
Does anyone else find the following new features a bit annoying?
Not being able to see how many people have applied for a sit unless it’s gone to reviewing
Not being able to see if your initial message has been read
As someone who can only apply for limited sits(family friendly) I’m finding these changes an annoyance. I know a lot of people on the forum think that if ou don’t get an immediate, or any response at all, it’s rude, but that’s par for the course when I apply, so often I go by how many applicants someone has received and if they’ve read my message when it comes to giving more time for a reply.
Like most, I apply to multiple sits at once, some I want more than others so its preferable for me to know if so.eone has read my application.
Just want to know if anyone shares my gripes or if there’s a way around!
If it gets to 5 applicants then it’s in the reviewing stage but I believe you can see before 5 how many have applied. Annoying when you can’t see how many if you have a sit that coincides with those dates though.
You should be able to see if your application has been read as it will change from ‘unread’ to ‘read’
Maybe it’s a glitch, because this doesn’t happen for me? You can see how many applicants there are by clicking ’ view dates’ on any listing, and I can always see if a message (regardless if it’s the first) has been read by the owner. Are you using the app? Maybe delete it & reinstall id you’re using the app, as it’s a bit buggy sometimes, even the website can be.
I draft my messages on an online notepad, then paste into text boxes, whether on THS or other platforms. It’s not just about the space, you’re also less likely to lose what you write, because many platforms have tech glitches or such.
