Hi! I’m Susan from Nanaimo British Columbia On the west coast of Canada. I’m a 67 yr old retired gal and have been following THS for
2 yrs now. I love the positive vibe & love of animals the community has. I am now brave enough to start travelling again to locales I can’t take my little senior chihuahua Cali so I joined the group in November. I made my first post for a sitter for the 3rd week of February a couple days ago. I haven’t a clue how long it takes to find a sitter but hope I wrote a good enough bio of me, my fur baby, my home and city that someone will jump at the opportunity. Fingers crossed a fur baby angel or 2 will answer my request and I’ll have 7 days on the beach worry free that Cali is being spoilt and well cared for. I am also looking forward to sitting other THS pets/homes as I return to exploring this planet. Thanks.

Hi! I’m originally West Coast. Now Spain retired. I find it important to name your hobbies … and very important to state what the sitters accommodation is … best for single, type of bed, include photo of accommodation. Would you like sitter to arrive day before so you familiarise yourself, your pet, your home (fuse box), your surrounding area with them … even neighbours name etc.
Thx Therese for the info. I’m working from an IPhone and not that good at finding tabs and links to use. I’ll work on linking my looking for a sitter request to the Forum. Fingers crossed I’ll find someone as I’m a month away from Departure date.

Welcome to THS! I have checked out your page, liked what I saw and saved it as a favourite. Unfortunately, we are not available for your current posting, but would be interested in future opportunities. We will be on the island starting October 5th, 2023 until at least Dec 31st. (We have a few sits booked.) If you have any plans for travel during that period feel free to reach out to us.
You shouldn’t have any trouble with your search for the perfect sitter for this trip.

Thank you for checking my sit request. And thanks for the kind words about my post and my baby Cali. I’m doing these posts on my iPhone so it’s not that easy. Is there an easy way to move the pictures around? Thanks for any help. I went to the local library earlier to use their Computers to link my sit to the forum.

We do use 2/3 day sits to fill in between our longer sits.

By the way, in case you didn’t know…. As a homeowner, you can search for sitters on the site. If you find one you think you’d like to have sit for you you can send them an invitation to sit. We have received several invitations from homeowners we didn’t know. We are now doing repeat sits for those homeowners.

Hi @Smoretto … as @geoff.hom is off-line at the moment, I thought I would advise.
If you are on your phone, and go to “My listing” … Edit… tap which photo you want as your cover photo, and just below each photo are two arrows, up or down, so you can reorganize your photos that way… always ‘save all’ at the end.

I am a sitter living in Australia but, having been born and raised in BC I still call it home. I have tried, in vain, to get house sits on the Island so I would say you are in a pretty good position! I am limiting myself to the summer months so I know that is cutting out all of the wonderful snow birds. Cheers.
