Is there a way that THS could add more filters to sitter's info?

For example, I personally want to know if a potential sitter has a dog they are bringing. If so, that’s a no for our situation. Or, if they are bringing children? Again, our dogs would not do well. I would like to be able to filter that immediately instead of having to read through someone’s entire bio to find out they are not a good fit.
Thoughts?

It is simple enough to put in the introduction of your profile that your home is not suitable for children or pets. Saves everyone time and drama.

I very much doubt that a sitter wouldn’t tell you if they were bringing a dog. If you didn’t have it noted that your sit wasn’t suitable for other animals or children then I’m sure a potential sitter would ask you.
As mentioned, you should note these in your listing

I’m sure that this COULD be done -

However IMHO it’s extremely unlikely that THS will do this . They haven’t added a key to the sitter’s availability calendar - a simple fix that would stop a lot of confusion and something that’s been requested for many years .

For example with other websites, you can filter all of these things before looking for sitters that fit your criteria.

As @OnTheRoadAgain suggested, I would include that info at the very top of your listing. As a sitter, I really appreciate when HO’s put their requirements —-for example: Single female sitter only or local sitters only at the top. It saves everyone so much time. I don’t have to read several paragraphs only to find out in the last sentence that they don’t want couples. In your case, it could clearly state not suitable for families or pets,

Looking for sitters that fit your criteria is not the best way to find sitters that fit your criteria. Sitters aren’t being paid. They are looking for places that fit their needs and travel plans. That’s why the best way to find a sitter is to let them find you by posting your listing with the dates that you need the sitter to arriave and leave. Sitters can fitler available sits by dates, lenght of sit, location, and types of pets. If your sit meets their criteria, they will then apply to the sit. There are no filters preventing sitters with pets from from applying, but if you state on your listing that you cannot accept sitters travelling with other pets, that might prevent most such sitters from wasting your time and theirs and applying. You will find publicly listing much less time consumming. You do not have to accept a person just because they apply. If they seem suitable you can both meet for a video chat and then you can decide if there is a match. The added chat allows you to really make sure you both understand everything and that the match will work.

We clearly post on our home listing that we can’t have other animals here. And that our sit is not suitable for children.

Yet we always get at least one application stating that they are traveling with their own pets or children.

So really, it’s not a perfect system, you just have to roll with it. That’s ok… we don’t mind.

Need only set that as a requirement. An experienced, proper sitter would know and respect the requirements.
Sitters would appreciate as much info as possible from pet owners. Suggestion is to choose your sitter well.

I’d really love the option to filter for sitters with experience and several reviews. Does anyone know why this search function was removed? After a couple of difficult experiences, I feel more comfortable choosing sitters who have some history on the platform. My pets’ needs mean I really do rely on more experienced sitters.

You still can @Jessy on either the website or app using filters. It comes under Experience.

Thank you temba, this is the view I used to have but I dont have it anymore. All I see is “Sitters are waiting to apply…” with a list of random people. I have no ability to filter whatsover

Are you trying on both the app and your computer @Jessy?
This may be a silly question but are you actually logged in?
Do you have current dates listed?
