Is there a way to see Sitters total number of sits?

Is it possible to see how many sits a potential sitter has done? I’d like to both gauge their level of experience and see if they’ve done sits that not reviewed.

Yes, any sitter’s profile will show how many sits completed, regardless if a review was left or not (on the app). It shows under ‘reviews & references.’

Yes, on the App you can see all past sits, whether Reviewed or not. On the website, you will only see those sits where there was a Review submitted.

Same for both Sitters and Pet Parents.

@Sallemander
No , currently a sitter’s profile shows only the sits that they have received a review for.

@Nagy26 @PetSitterBug you may be thinking of your own dashboard where you can see all your past sits but these don’t all show up on your public profile . Only the ones where you have received a review show on that .

This is different for hosts where you can see all the previous sits , whether reviewed or not .

PetSitterBug says it’s different on the app than on the website but I can’t see it in either. Silversitters, do you know if that’s true?

Hi @Sallemander, welcome to the forum.

As a homeowner, you won’t be able to see if a sitter has missing reviews. There’s a difference between the app and the web for owners missing reviews but not for sitters. We would need to know the dates of a sit to infer that there was no review left for the sitter. That is easier for a sitter because we look for listings and there we can see the dates of previous sits. The total number of sits you see won’t reflect the sits where there was no review.

@Sallemander On the app, the sitter’s profile will show Reviews and References and the combined number. However, when searching for a sitter on the website, the sitter’s image on the search will only display the review count. When you then go into the profile, it again initially only displays the review count. You have to then scroll down the profile and there are separate headings for Reviews (X) and References (X), with separate counts in the brackets after each.

As a sitter, I’ve never had a sit that wasn’t reviewed, so I’ll pass on that part of your question.

Sits without reviews do not show up on a sitter’s profile - not on the App and not on the webpage .

Can one really
gauge their level of experience
by seeing the number of sits?

One sitter might have few reviews but long experience with :pet: from young to old, incl. pet-related health and training, while another might have pet-sat many times without ever having to deal with any issues, just scooping kibble and litter-boxes. Just a thought.

@Sallemander I have 3 sits where I did not receive a review and I can confirm those sits do not show up on my profile when viewed by others. Only I can see those gaps on my own profile. So on my own profile my completed sit count is 3 higher than my review count
The difference with hosts is that you can see all their missing reviews (a gap under the sitters name) but you can only see this on the app! On the web version you will only see the past sitters who gave a review. Therefore it is always important to check the app for the full review history. E.g you could see no reviews for a particular sit on the web- OK- Maybe they’re a new host. And then you check the app and see 3 past sitters none of whom gave a review- big Red flag!
With sitters history its more tricky to discover this. I have spotted it occasional when reading past sitter reviews and then clicking on the sitters profile to see how the host reviewed them as I always like to cross reference. Sometime you simply don’t find a past sit i.e nothing listed for the relevent dates and location on the sitter profile- that means the host did not give a review. That’s pretty much the onky way to discover that info- by accident.
It is one if the many descrepancies in how the site works.

@Sallemander nothing tricky about my profile. I state how many sits completed over the past 13 years for all to see (gauge my level of experience as you say). Perhaps you might be concerned that the number of sits are 40 more than the reviews recieved. Deeper enquiry with me would reveal that on many repeat sits done (12 with one owner the most) we don’t request a review unless there is a number of years between sit or the owner’s situation (location, pets, responsibilities) has changed; some don’t renew membership and invite outside of the THS umbrella; some owners don’t do reviews (not sure why however some don’t and that does not worry me at all) and a few (5 in our case) have become unfinancial during the sit and have not renewed in time to be able to post a review.
