Excellent suggestions, thank you - will add those details on.
please do ;o)
Hi, listing is on - ready to be found ;o)
How much would it be to get the ferry or plane ride from the mainland ?
That would be a factor that a sitter would need to consider .
Do you have pets - is there a vet on the island ?
Yes you will have less applicants in December in comparison to a less remote place, but your place sounds like the perfect retreat for a sitter who wants to escape for a while. December would be an amazing sit for someone who fancies a chance of seeing the Northern Lights, and there’s a much larger chance of seeing them when the sitter is there for a whole month, so that is great. A lot of full time sitters love longer stays (we do).
Hi, yes there is a vet on the island and yes we have pets (2 dogs/2 cats).
The flight prices various and the ferry is about £20 (max) one way.
To me it would be a plus point, I seek out rural pet sits. There will be someone out there for you I’m sure.
Your remote location is the selling point to me! What a wonderful opportunity to get away from it all and experience some real nature. I don’t think you’ll have trouble finding a sitter, but it may take some time to find the right one. I’ve got commitments here in Canada this December or I’d be interested myself!
Hi Tiree, i noticed your sit, as its in a place. I’d be very interested in visiting, and the pets look lovely.
We are in cumbria, so it’s not too far.
For us, though, we still work and have family, so christmas and a full month make it a no-go for us this time. Though others’ circumstances can work differently.
I think others have given some good advice, especially adding the ferry fare and date flexibility, too.
I do notice that some more remote Scottish sits take a little longer to fill. But i do think you’re advertising in good time.
Good luck.
Thank you Deb, really hoping to find someone for our furry babies. ;o)
If there’s any ‘Outlander’ filming locations there or nearby, that would be a hit!
According to Wikipedia, it is the “Hawaii of the north”.
Another attraction for some: about 40 % of the population speak Gaelic! It would be fun to go to the pub there.
I assume that ferry price is foot passenger only with no car?
Your location sounds ideal for the right sitter and your fur family look so sweet. You might want to indicate where you are on the island in terms of access to ferry, co-op etc. Great that you are providing a car, might want to even include a picture of car to make that obvious. You are in a wonderful location, and I would absolutely be drawn to it. I just returned to the US from an amazing stay on Ulva after the best sit ever in Glasgow. So yes…your location offers a rare opportunity to be in an amazing place. Hope you will find the perfect person!
Thank you for your feedback, will add those details.
So glad you had a good trip to Ulva!
yes that’s correct, the sitter will access to our car or they are welcome to bring their own - cost is approximately £180 return from Oban to Tiree, the foot passenger price is £50 return.
Thanks, i would assume most interested UK sitters would drive to Oban and get the ferry, especially those in the North of the UK.
Seen plenty of Tiree on YouTube and it looks like a beautiful place, hope you get a sitter sorted (I’m sure you will)
Best of luck to you.
Hi yes, that correct or taking a train from Glasgow to Oban or flying from Glasgow to tiree. thank you hope so too! ;o)
Sounds amazing! We would jump at the chance of a very rural and original type sit like this if we sat in Scotland Best of luck @Tiree
