I am a pet owner and I split my time between two homes - one in the winter and one in the summer. I would like to know if a Standard Pet Parent annual membership allows me to post Pet Sit opportunities in both locations depending on our needs and where we are living. I tried to ask this question in the Help Chat area but it wasn’t understood so I’m turning to the community. Thank you in advance!
Welcome @bethbesen you may find this thread helpful as this question was previously asked by another member
Also may be useful to know that when Frankie the chatbot doesn’t understand your question you can ask to speak to a human and you will get connected to a real person !
I have the same situation. It was suggested by THS to have 2 memberships but that’s doesn’t make sense for me as I don’t always know which of my 2 homes we will depart from each year and of course the added cost. So I plan to just redo the whole house/sit description depending on each year’s vacation plans. I save my pics for each house listing and keep the house info for each location in a word document for easy cut in paste. Hope that helps.
Hello and thank you for getting back to me with links to people with similar questions… I’ve reviewed many of the threads and while it seems that your organization would prefer to separate accounts, if people are diligent and make sure they have photos and listings of the home they need for a specific pet, one account would be OK?
We don’t often go away but when we do, this sort of service would be ideal; that said, if I need to purchase two separate standard accounts annually, that is double the price. I know you say you can work with people on the price so please let me know what you might be able to do if I were to move forward with two separate accounts? And would I be able to purchase just one account for my immediate needs and then apply the discount to a second one when I am at my alternate location and need pet sittingso that the year begins at that time?
I sat for a couple that had two homes. They just updated the account – photos, description depending on which home. There situation was a little different. They had been staying in and renovating the country home during COVID. At some point they sublet their city apartment. They were careful about changing photos and descriptions on their account. No sitter was ever confused. Sitters always saw the right listing!
The only weirdness is that my review now looks like I sat for them in their city apartment where they are once again living. If you read the review, I talk about the small town and how lovely it was! But their hosptiality, pet care, communication, and everything else would be the same 5-star in any location.
I can understand why THS might encourage you to get two accounts, but IMO it’s not necessary. It’s very easy to change locations in the dashboard, and while I will look for locations to sit, if I want to know about your pets and how you interact with sitters, two accounts aren’t necessary.
