Membership prices

One thing to keep in mind …
many members use a promo code for a discount when they join but apparently that can only happen once.
So some might think they had a price increase year 2 but it could just be they were paying full price.

I also received my renewal notification recently with no mention of a price increase or any other email about a price increase.

Thank you @MaggieUU, I’m aware of that, I’m paying the full price since 2022 but maybe this can help somebody else.

Every time I checked the different plans prices since I subscribed they were just the same as the one I was paying. Now every plan has increased.

Sorry! Thought I posted that generally, not to you specifically. Cheers

@Cuttlefish the US also has laws that require advance notification of price increases for auto-renewals.

To everybody: it was a little error on my side.

I just checked better the Feb 1st email I received.

The subject just said “Membership renewal”, and so the first half of the email. Since I’m aware that I have automatic renewal, I just thought it was an automatic message to remind me of the renewal.
It was identical to the others I received in the past.

Now I went through to ge to the bottom of the email and I found a little paragraph with THE info. So, I did receive a notification of price increase.
I still don’t think it’s enough: it should have been written on the subject, to me. But at least they tried.

Hey @giuvax

Sorry - me again!

I’ve had to remove the screenshots from your post as we don’t allow screenshots on the Forum.

Thanks for popping back to give more information though - we really appreciate you giving more context.

I’m happy to feed your thoughts back to the team, if you haven’t already.

Jenny :slightly_smiling_face:

I did, thank you Jenny! I just wanted to receive feedback about how readable are those messages, because I think they were very confusing and not so clear, starting from the subject. I removed every reference that could show my name (though I just don’t care). Is there any way to show them to other users following forum rules?

would you check at the bottom of the email please?

I think the description you put in your post is enough, as you’ve explained where you need to go to find the information, and mentioned the subject line of the email as well.

I’ve added your update as the best answer to your original post, this means anyone reading the original post will be able to see your update and location of the price increase information right at the top instead of having to look for an update.

@giuvax nothing about a price increase. I’m pretty sure the price is more than prior years. I’ll have to check what I’ve previously paid. I think I’m just going to downgrade my membership from premium.

No price at all mentioned on mine. So nothing about being charged the same, more or less (yeah, right!).

@giuvax Thank you for sharing your experience here.

I’ve been a sitter member for 10 years and have been on auto renewal since I joined. I’ve been toying with the idea of not renewing my membership, for a number of reasons. Any price increase would certainly help me decide, and I doubt I’d renew.

I think my category as sitter is called classic, which was introduced for existing members, as the tiered membership was being introduced. It doesn’t show on current pricing as it’s not an option.

I just checked my membership. It shows that I’m set for renewal on April 28th, and it shows the price without any increase. I’ve taken a screen shot, in case I need proof, if the cost is anything different. If it has increased, I will cancel my membership and insist on a refund.

I’ll update this post, after my renewal. :slightly_smiling_face:

@Snowbird Good thinking! I just checked my renewal for May- still the same as ever- so I’ve made a screenshot- for back up- incase anything changes between now and then! :star_struck:

I recent went to cancel my auto renew ( as an experiment to see if it was possible ) I was offered a 25% discount not to cancel my auto renew - which I accepted . It is permanently showing that I will have a 25 % discount when my renewal comes up .

I have followed @Snowbird ‘s suggestion and
screenshot the page as proof - just in case that promised offer disappears…

The irony of this , is not lost on me …some of us don’t trust TrustedHouse Sitters to honour what they promise …

Does it also say what your actual renewal price will be? Or just that you will have 25% discount?
I’ve had the same price forever for the original ‘sitter’ plan & I don’t want jeopardise it and find myself on one of the three Tiers with ever increasing prices!!

Yes , it has the renewal price and date .

I joined in 2022 as a Standard Sitter .
Upgraded to Premium part way through 2023 ( due to experiencing two curtailed sits back to back ) .

I haven’t actually paid anymore since then as referrals keep adding extra months to our current membership -

Good idea!

Perhaps you got a limited offer for auto renewal and you may lose it if you interrupt it.

@Newpetlover I joined in 2018 when there was only one price for all. I was promised (at the time) that if I remained on autorenewal my membership price would remain the same forever. At the moment my price is still lower than the bottom ‘basic’ tier but has elements of both basic & standard tier so its a deal I don’t want to lose! :star_struck:
