Names on our Couples Profile

Me and my husband have a Couples Profile, both our names are on there. But only my husband’s name shows on reviews or our inbox messages.
This was queried a couple of years ago, and the Product Team we’re looking into it.
Anyone know why this hasn’t changed yet? I would guess that the majority of members are Couples and would like to see both names listed.
So annoying :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

We share the sentiment, @PandAonTour . It’s frustrating. :face_with_steam_from_nose:

As of today, there’s no other “solution” than editing the name to Member.A & Member.B so it displays as intended in Inbox and Reviews. Unfortunately, the downside is that it will appear across the rest of the platforms as Member.A & Member.B & Member.B.

I tried that too, and yes, we came Paul and Annie and Annie :roll_eyes:

Careful! THS doesn’t accept trio memberships
It seems they’re not well received by PPs

Its very annoying and we too have questioned it. MS told us only one person can be the official account holder (even married couples) and only the account holders name appears in the inbox & review request. They refuse to change that- goodness knows why not! We had a couple of hosts who wrote a review using only my name, as if I was sitting alone, when in both cases they’d met us both & we’d even overnighted with one couple. I called the latter to ask why he had written the review only for me. He said ‘well the review request (which is an auto msg from THS) only had your name on it’!! Mmmm…:roll_eyes:

(He did eventually manage to get MS to edit the review names but it was an unnecessary hassle!)

What a nice fellow!

I can imagine that must be really annoying, especially as you asked 2 years ago……

Your husband is the primary sitter. Technically, you are “accompanying” your husband. For all the couple sitters I’ve had that what I see. You could ask the people you sit for to please mention you by name in the reviews.

I also sit. My husband often accompanies me but I don’t have him added as a secondary sitter. However, his name appears in a lot of reviews especially when we’ve done warm handovers and the hosts have met him.

There is currently a pilot where both people will have the same vetting and be equal in the account. You could contact member services and ask about that.

That’s interesting! So I could add my spouse by just changing my name from Marion to Marion and Craig? That might make sense for the sits that I apply to with him!

That’s a simple way to go about it @Marion yes. In any case, it would only change your nickname, letting HOs know that there will be two sitters. However, your profile will continue showing you as a solo sitter, so it’s understandable that some hosts might ask why, if there are two of you, only one is registered.

Clear communication with the hosts from the beginning would avoid any confusion. Also, since you’re already an experienced sitter, you’ve done sits together, he is mentioned in the reviews, and he is alto your husband, you really shouldn’t have any issues adding his name

I don’t think I’d do it. You’re right it would be less than transparent to add him as a nickname. I don’t think most homeowners would even understand that anything was different.

I’ve though of adding him or adding him and then subtracting him at will the usual way since there is no actual check on the secondary person and all you have to do is change it in the profile. I don’t think the way I currently do it has cost me any sits. His name isn’t on the account but I mention that he might be accompanying in the profile, and that if he is, I’ll send out some “bonafides” and I do in the form of two websites where his mentioned one of which includes a photo. If it’s cost me any sits I’m not worried about it. One of the sites mentions some interesting info about himthat possibly has gotten me the sit!

It’s stubborn, but I just feel like “sitting” is a me thing, and even though he often comes and is always helpful, I don’t want any mistakes about who’s in charge.
