I agree with what you’ve written @systaran!
@Jenny @Carla I clicked the link to be immediately removed from this beta testing when I received the initial email yesterday, anticipating a mess. I see that has not happened when I open my THS inbox today. Could you please ensure that I am removed from this testing please.
I agree, very childish and I’m afraid that a lot of the website is childish now
Me too please, I dislike it intensely.
Wonder if they considered using a simple for confirmed sits and a for unsuccessful applications, or is that too simple
Further to my thread yesterday, I note that my labels are missing from the few entries I am left with.
The message on my last application from THS states that the HO is reviewing my application even though it also states that the dates have been removed as the HO doesn’t need a sitter.
So, in addition to everything else, the site is contradicting itself.
@Jenny, @Carla - I sent the automated request yesterday for me to be removed from the test - do you know when that will be.
What was wrong with the old inbox and why are THS breaking a workable programme once again?
Thanks
Exactly what my thoughts are @Itchyfeet , the old saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”! I’m positive there are more pressing needs on the website that need more immediate attention? I totally get that people generally hate change but gee, sounds like a mess
Hello everyone!
Thanks very much to everyone participating in the beta test so far.
Want to opt-out? No problem - request removal from the beta group from here . Please note that removal from the group is a manual process and won’t happen immediately, the team is available in GMT working hours and will be working through requests daily, meaning any from yesterday will be looked at today.
Remember, this is an early access program with limitations. We’re sorry if you weren’t fully informed of these. The private beta is with a very small number of users to help us identify issues. We will be adding further functionality and resolving issues before we do a full rollout to all members.
Your feedback is shaping the future of Trusted Housesitters, so we’d hate to see you leave the beta test!
Here’s a summary of your feedback:
-
Missing images: This issue will be fixed this morning! @ExploreDreamDiscover
-
Limited message history: Currently you are only seeing 20 conversations. If you have many chats ongoing, you can opt out using the link above. We’re prioritising working on this next for beta users. Just to clarify and reassure you, your full data is safe, it’s just temporarily hidden within the new user interface.
-
Character limit: We have added a character limit when writing an application or invite, applications or invites without a message were frustrating. Thanks for the feedback, @pietkuip!
-
“First five” confusion: You don’t need to rush your application! You can send it once you’re within the application screen, no need to be the first five. When writing an application you can now easily navigate to the listing, which now opens in a new tab so you stay within the application process. Thanks for clarifying, @pietkuip!
-
Withdrawing applications: There’s now a clear “withdraw” button.
-
Rejected terminology: We’ll change “rejected” to “declined” as suggested, @systaran!
-
Illustrations: We’ll look into updating the illustrations to better reflect pet sitting and travel, thanks @systaran and @Smiley!
-
Other areas also needing worked on: The THS team are always working hard to improve the member’s experience, so the work on this beta test doesn’t mean that the team aren’t working on other things at the same time. @ziggy
@Smiley If you could provide more feedback about what you don’t understand, I can pass that on to the team. If you want to leave the beta test you can do so by following the link further up this post! Please note the removal is a manual process which isn’t immediate, but the team are aware that some members have decided to opt-out and will be working on this.
Please keep the feedback coming! Be specific about what you like and dislike, any navigation issues, or other concerns. Your contributions matter, and we’re listening.
Thank you for your contributions so far to the beta test group.
Many thanks!
The Product team & the Forum team
Hello everyone,
Just a quick update on the beta testing for the new inbox. The team have now updated the limited message history and if you click ‘load more’, you will be able to load more pages (20 on each page). This means you will be able to load all messages in your inbox. If you have less than 20 messages you won’t see the option to load more.
Thank you for everyone taking the time to test the new inbox. Although it’s in the testing stage and not the final product, it is super helpful to provide feedback on anything you think is missing, you would like added etc.
It is great that you are helping the team build the new inbox!
I tried out the beta for about 12 hours - and then seeing only 20 messages and no archive I asked to be taken out. And they got me out by the morning after requesting.
But from what I’ve seen, I don’t know that I like the new frontend.
I’m still waiting for my inbox to revert. What an utter shambles
Hello, @Smiley when did you opt out of the test? Have a look at Jenny’s comments if you only opted out yesterday or today then it should be reverting soon. If it hasn’t reverted by tomorrow let us know and we can follow up for you
Yes I opted out via the link on Jenny’s message my yesterday (your Tuesday I think)
Thank you, it should be back to normal by tomorrow, but let me know if it’s not!
Hi @toml
Thanks for giving the beta a try - would you be able to give us a bit more information about what you didn’t like about the frontend? You can pop any thoughts in a reply on this thread and I can pass your thoughts over to the team?
Alternatively, let me know if you managed to fill out the feedback form!
Thanks
Jenny
I have used the inbox today for an application and have some feedback about that process specifically. I’d like to submit the feedback form while it’s fresh in my mind .
However I plan to continue to trial the inbox for other aspects (messaging etc ).
@Jenny if I submit a feedback form today. Can I submit some more feedback forms when I use the inbox again or are we limited to just the one feedback form for the whole of the trial?
I don’t want to waste my opportunity to give feedback by submitting the feedback form today if that is our one and only chance to give feedback on the trial .
I’ll just double check that for you @Silversitters and I’ll let you know ASAP!
Feedback:
Application text box is too small.
Whilst I could submit an application of our usual length (1650 characters) it wasn’t all visible in the text box .
It was possible to scroll up and down and see all the text . However I could not expand the text box to see all of the application at one time. I like to be able to see overview of the application ( as was previously possible ) so that I can spot any typos and correct . A overview of the whole of the text is also important to ensure it’s correctly spaced and easy to read . This isn’t possible with the small text box . A much larger text box is required for applications.
I have an answer for you @Silversitters - you can fill out the feedback form more than once.
When you fill out the question ‘How satisfied are you with the experience of using our new inbox?’ you should base your answer on your experience to date.
We’ll be happy to pass along the feedback you’ve posted above as well.
Thanks @Jenny and product team for the prompt reply . I usually use the app for everything on THS . If I hadn’t read this forum thread I would have continued using the app for my inbox during the trial . The e-Mail sent out did not explain that you needed to use the desktop version . On the app nothing has changed .
So I am changing my habits and using the desktop version so that I can be part of the test group for the trial period .
There may be others who signed up for the trial who also don’t realise that it’s only on the desktop version . This could be communicated better ( by e-mail ) rather than relying on someone reading about it on the forum.
I am glad to still have the app as a backup .
