New problem with App on Android

Yesterday when I was checking listings on my phone I found that I could not click on the listing dates and therefore could not apply on my phone using the App. Today I reinstalled the App and the problem continues. Can this be fixed soon please? It is frustrating to pay full price but have the technology fail half the time. (I gave up getting notifications years ago and know that I miss out on ALL the most popular sits.) Thanks.

As THS doesn’t monitor what’s raised in the Forum, your best bet is to contact them through the bot but writing ā€œspeak to a humanā€ twice.

Hi @Shella_in_the_Forum, I was having the same issue. I was able to fix it by going to Apps > Find the Trusted Housesitters app> Click Advanced > Make sure the slider Display Over other Apps is set to Allowed.

@Shella_in_the_Forum I’ve got the dame problem and indeed, in a time where only 5 applications are allowed, losing a few valuable seconds means yoou might lose out.
I notice that if you click on dates and nothing appears, click on ā€˜Home and location’ and for me the dates appear then…

@BunnyCat I tried, but unfortunately the problem remains.

Yes, I can understand the frustration of this.

Could I kindly suggest that you email support@trustedhousesitters.com with all your phone details and the issue. If you have some screenshots or even a video showing the problem, then membership services will investigate this further for you.

Thanks for the tip. The location and wording were different on my phone but with your solution, Google AI, and 2 YouTube videos this finally worked for me. I hope it helps others.

To allow ā€œdisplay over other appsā€ on a Samsung phone, go to Settings > Apps, tap the three-dot menu, select Special access, choose Appear on top, and then find your app and toggle the switch to enable it.

Hmm. A screen shot would have shown the button on the screen and nothing happening when I tap on it. Fortunately I fixed it. My guess is that a new phone update messed up something for the THS app. It is always the THS app that seems to have chronic problems. And so I am chronically exasperated. Thanks.

Just an update. The fix worked for a day but then stopped working. Now and then I can click on dates but 99% of the time it doesn’t work. Tomorrow I will take time to send an email to support but I ecpect nothing will happen. In the meantime, the app is worthless to me. I will be requesting half off my membership fee for every week that I receive only partial service. Sigh.

Please let us know how that works out for you.

Still having that same problem too, the ā€œview datesā€ tab will no longer function despite the fixes listed by other users here. I have 4 devices and it does not work on any since the last App update on 12th November. This means I cannot apply for any sits, the HOs will have no idea there is an issue as there is no other means of communicating with them. I have contacted THS.

I’d love to hear any other ideas from other users.

@Dembers Have you tried using the website and not the app?

Hi temba, yeah it appears to work if you go into the site via an internet browser.

For anyone who is still having issues have you updated to the latest version 3.0.0.15?

@BunnyCat

I am not sure how to answer that. I have a Samsung, Android. My last update was 11/11/25 and the Update information says:

One UI Version: 8.0
Android Version 16
Version: A536USQUHGYIA
Size 2425.92 MB
Security patch level Oct 1, 2025

And this is what AI tells me. I wonder if I can and should revert back to Android 15. Alas, I don’t have time right now to make THS technology work. Thanks for trying to help all of us.

From Google AI:
The version number 3.0.0.15 is not a standard Android OS version; it is likely an app or component version number, possibly related to a custom ROM or a specific device’s software. The latest official Android versions are Android 16 and the most recent stable release, Android 15, which includes new privacy and productivity features.

Understanding the version number

  • 3.0.0.15 is not an official Android OS version number, which typically starts with the major version like 15 or 16, followed by minor and patch numbers.

  • This specific numbering format is often used for individual applications or for custom operating system builds, such as the NothingOS 3.0 based on Android 15 mentioned in this YouTube video.

Latest official Android versions

  • Android 16: The latest major version of Android is Android 16, which was released in June 2025.

  • Android 15: The most recent stable release is Android 15, codenamed ā€œVanilla Ice Creamā€.

    • Key features: This version introduces a new system UI with Material You, redesigned widgets, Game Mode, and new privacy protections like the Privacy Dashboard and approximate location.

Was this on an iPhone or Android?

I tried the solution and it is not working. I am so frustrated that I cannot apply for sits or communicate with homeowners on the app now, during the busy holiday season.
