*** URGENT problem with THS app***

There is a new problem with the THS app and it is not getting resolved. I have an Android phone and I am not having problems with any other apps. I cannot see the dates of sits, I cannot apply for sits, I cannot type messages to homeowners, I am not getting notifications. I am missing out on all these holiday sits that supposedly are so important and need sitters. This needs to get resolved *as soon as possible.* I emailed THS support on 11/16, eventually got a reply, they have been MIA for days now, and nothing is fixed. What is the resolution THS is providing??? I am paying for a membership and I cannot use the app, and cannot apply for sits and am missing out on holiday sits. This has become urgent — since THS is not fixing the problem. NOBODY should have to pay for a membership when the app is not working. Someone needs to respond to me as soon as possible.

Try just using a web search for Trusted Housesitters and go in that way, or use a laptop and just log into Trusted Housesitters. I have never used the app and never have any problems getting into the site. This could be a quicker alternative, as an app really is not necessary.

I’m having exactly the same problem , the app is practically unusable at the moment. Missed out on a sit yesterday, as couldn’t apply on phone while out. It’s been reported already, 2 other posts about this problem.

@Traveler9910 I have an Android phone, and I am able to see dates, apply for sits, and message via the inbox. I can see dates both when I do a general search for sits, and when I click on a particular sit there is a dark green button saying ‘view date’, which you need to click on in order to reveal dates. (Mentioning this, as it does look as though you’d need to scroll down to see the dates.)

It sounds as though you are not alone with this problem. Here’s a link to a similar post:

@Visit don’t have a laptop and when I am housesitting or not at home that moment, I use my phone. So for me the app is crucial. Everyone’s situation is very different. You can just decide that the app is not necessary for others.

Deleted this

Just uninstalled and reinstalled my app, made no difference.

@Becca Yes, I know. I am very familiar with this app. I cannot click on the green button.

Traveler 9910. I also use my phone to log on to Trusted Housesitters but just do it directly through their website. I have an android phone. Try logging on without going through the app on your phone. It may work, as I have never used the app on my phone.

I never use the app for applying or any other communication. Reading about the problems other members are encountering, I just checked if my Android (Pixel 9 Pro, Android version 16) was also having problems. And? Nothing. It works like a charm. I didn’t encounter any of the problems mentioned in the thread above or elsewhere

Note: Android OS is not exactly the same in Samsung and Pixel.

Hi @Traveler9910

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues.

As others have mentioned, this is a known bug that the tech team are working on.

I recommend following the advice given by @Visit and logging into the Trusted Housesitters website using your mobile browser or laptop, as this should avoid any issues.

I wonder if they’re also working on the bug that means you can’t see messages (to upcoming HOs) while you’re typing them? I had to send one completely blind. It was largely gobbledegook. Heaven knows what the poor HO thought…

Hi @Traveler9910 I’ve been having the same problem and I too use the app pretty much exclusively. I am currenty travelling without my laptop & only have my phone so rely even more on the app. I tried going on the actual Website (on my phone) and found I could see dates and apply as normal. So although its not so convenient to go on the website on a small device at least you can have access- until they fix the glitch.. All is not lost!

@DieFledermaus Yes. This is a horrible problem.

@Jenny I understand this is one option. But when time is of the essence and we are competing for sits that only allow five applicants, and it’s a desirable sit, the delay can mean that we lose our chance to apply.

And — If we are paying for a membership, the app should be functioning on ALL of our phones, not just some.

Traveler 9910.just iterested to how an app can be any quicker than going through the website? I have Trusted Houseitters in my top tool bar and just click on it and am immediately into the site. I then have immediate access to everything.

It takes longer to go through the website. In addition to logging on, it asks for a code that I have to access through email. On my phone I am toggling between windows trying to get the code. When time is of the essence, this is not helpful. I am paying for a membership and should be able to use the app.

Traveler9910. I never log out so always get in immediately. This way it skips the code thing, which is highly annoying.

In my experience the notification in the app are so much quicker, the website is just too slow and you miss out on the popular sits
