For future developments on your system; it would be great to be able to nominate (or pin) our best review so that it always stays at the top of the list and doesn’t get lost down the list of reviews as you continue to do more house sits.
That’s a cool idea! I’ve passed your feedback to the team for future consideration!
@AlyA two other platforms that I belong to have this. You can choose a review to be your “fearured review” and it appears at the top right under your photo. You can change it whenever you wish.
Hello everyone, I know we are all waiting for the official announcement and thank you for everyone’s patience whilst the team is working hard in the background to set everything up. We are getting very close and will announce the release as soon as we know more
In the meantime, we want to let you all know that there will be an email going out to all members who have a review or feedback that is incomplete and the sit was over a year ago. There will be a short deadline for those members to submit a review or feedback before those reviews/feedback will be closed. It is likely that after a year or more has passed since the sit the members might choose not to submit one.
Shortly after that email, there will be an email sent out to let members with an incomplete review or feedback from less than a year ago. It will let the member know that those reviews/feedback will fall under the new system when it is launched - once the system is launched they will have 14 days to complete those reviews or feedback.
This is to make sure that all previous reviews and feedback align with the new hidden review system.
Once the system is launched there will be a launch email to all members and increased email communication from the marketing team prompting members to leave reviews/feedback and explaining how it works.
There will also be a review announcements in the newsletter.
To make sure you receive all relevant emails and the newsletter, please make sure that your email settings are switched on in your THS account, and that you are subscribed to receive our emails (I accidentally unsubscribed my email at some point and Membership Services had to resubscribe me) and by checking junk, promotional and spam folders.
Membership Services are always there to help if you are not receiving the emails that you should be at support@trustedhousesitters.com
Any questions at all I am happy to help.
Have a great weekend and more review updates will be coming soon!
My breath is bated!
With respect @Carla - it was ‘soon’ in August. I will also continue waiting (patiently).
@Twitcher I know everyone has been long anticipating the new hidden reviews and many members are looking forward to the new review system (the forum team is as well) As with everything the team need to cross the t’s and dot the i’s!
We also wanted to give the forum community as much notice as possible about this change. We can also look at announcement timings as part of the new forum product category that is coming soon, so thank you for that feedback.
As soon as we know more we will let you know.
Thanks for the update @Carla !
Maybe next time the team could first announce, that they are working on “nnn”, explain what it includes and then tell it will be launched in the next six months (or whatever the time frame would be). That would let everyone know what’s happening but also give realistic picture of when it will be happening.
Announcing that something will be live “soon” - and then it wont be “soon”, but actually months away from the announcement, sends a very different message.
Is it true that reviews now have to be written within a two-week period from end of sit? I thought I read this somewhere.
My last Housesitters were lovely but we haven’t had a review yet; they messaged me to say that where they currently are, they have a very poor Wi-Fi connection but as soon as they reach somewhere with normal Wi-Fi connections, they’ll be able to finally do their review. I am worried we may miss the “window of opportunity”?
Hi @Kimski44 and welcome.
We are still patiently awaiting implementation of the new review system so plenty of time to receive your review.
Well, finally! They have now instigated the blind review system that airbnb uses. My questions though has to do with the email I just got explaining we have a deadline to leave reviews from sits in the past.
- Do they mean that all our previous reviews/feedback are going away?
- Can I re-review past sits?
It is unclear.
it was just announced via email
I just received an email from THS stating that the new review system will be going live soon. The email states that any reviews that haven’t been made on previous sits need to be made by Monday, November 13. Sorry to be nit-picky, but the email makes me have these questions:
- Does this cover feedback (the review sitters leave for homeowners) as well as reviews (the review homeowners leave for sitters)? I’m guessing that the term feedback is going to go away with this new system, and both sitters and homeowners will be leaving what will now both be called reviews?
- And, because THS covers the entire planet, what exact time on November 13? At midnight in your local time zone, or GMT, or some other time of the day on the 13th?
As far as the Nov 13th deadline to leave reviews for past sits, it specifically refers to sits that are more than a year old. So ones newer than this should still remain open for review. But I wonder if as of the 13th, they would fall under the new review system and you would only have two weeks to get them done?
The wording of the email I received seems specifically aimed at sitters so they must have sent a separate one to homeowners with similar information and I imagine they also are under the same deadline to submit their feedback.
As for the exact deadline, I would guess it to be based on UK time. I have noticed that once it reaches midnight UK time, the feedback option for a sit completed the previous day becomes available.
When did the email go out? I didn’t get it.
Hi @tortimom I have attached the latest thread which you should find explains this
A couple of hours ago.
Does this mean you’re no longer able to leave a review after 14 days?
Am I understanding this correctly? Surely this means it would be pointless to sit for an HO that were having to get two different sets of sitters to cover their vacation? As the last thing an HO wants to do is to be writing reviews while they are on vacation? So sitters would be taking a gamble whether or not they’d receive a review at all in that scenario, so all of those part-sits would end up getting zero applicants then.
What do you mean by “a review or feedback that is incomplete”. How does that even manifest?
My questions were about old existing reviews and feedback. Will they stay on my profile? Can I re-write anything? “incomplete” is confusing.
