New review system - Mega thread

I’m both a homeowner and a sitter and I only received the one email.

Hi @tortimom please see the attached replies from a previous thread

As per @Carla response on the thread: Yes, all previous reviews and feedback will still be visible on member’s profiles and listings. Everyone has worked hard to earn them so they will definitely still be there

So, I guess the email was not sent to everyone.

My hope/guess would be that if your sitters are truly without Wi-Fi for the entire 14 days after sitting for you, it seems that once they do have Wi-Fi, they could contact THS support and explain the situation and ask for them to add their review for you. That would only seem fair, to me. Would anyone from THS support be able to confirm what happens in this situation? I know, in the past, if I’ve made some silly typo or something in a review, THS support has kindly corrected it for me.

Hi @Wildcolonialgirl as per the update released

I’ve just read the email about the new review system starting 13th November.
The only thing that is clear to me is that it the terminolgy is now ‘reviews’ both ways- not review & feedback- and that there is a 14 day window to do the reviews.
There has been no update as to whether categories have been added- for sitters to rate hosts- in the same way hosts can currently rate sitters? Since the terminology has been changed from feedback to reviews (both ways)surely 5 categories should be added - for sitters also-so that the review system is more balanced and equal between hosts and sitters.
@Carla & @Angela_L @Ben-ProductManager can any of you comment on this?

Here is the full email, in case you didn’t receive it:

Hi Bunni, we come bearing good news - our new shiny review system will be live soon! But, this means you’ll only have until Monday 13th November to leave a review for any past sits that took place over a year ago.

Let us explain…

What’s the new review system?

Once you’ve finished your next sit and parted ways with your new furry friend, both you and the owner will have 14 days to leave a review on how the sit went. Reviews will be temporarily ‘hidden’ until both parties have left a review (or until 14 days have passed).

I’m not currently on a sit - is it too late to leave feedback on past sits?

If you aren’t currently on a sit, you can still review any of your past sits. However, you’ll now only have until Monday 13th November to leave a review for any sits that are over a year old. So, if there was a past sit you really loved, but haven’t managed to leave a review yet, now’s your last chance!

What’s the difference between the old review system, and the new one?

If you and the owner are leaving a review for a sit that’s already happened, you’ll be able to see each other’s review as soon as it’s posted.

For future sits, the owner won’t be able to read your review until you’ve both left a review (or once 14 days have passed). Why? Well, we want all our members to feel comfortable leaving honest and open feedback on how the whole experience went for everyone involved (including the furry homeowners!)

Can I still reply to my reviews with the new system?

Of course! Once you’ve both left a review (or 14 days have passed), both your review and the owner’s (if they’ve left one) will be posted, and you’ll be free to leave a reply to their review if you wish.

Our new review system comes highly requested and has been created using feedback from many of our lovely members - so we hope you’re just as excited about the new system as we are!

I haven’t received the email either

So! I have three sits that were never done due to Covid lockdown. Neither party could travel. Does this mean these homeowners are now going to be contacted to push for a review??? I don’t feel comfortable AT all with requesting someone to do something that happened or didn’t happen over three years ago.

@Samox24 or any other mod, please advise if this is the case and can it be avoided? Also, if these members are no longer paying members, can I have these non existent sits removed, without the need to harrass the homeowners who probably don’t give two hoots about it after all this time? TIA

I had the same thing happened to me, and I contacted the homeowner to ask them to delete the sit, since they are the only ones who could do that. They ghosted me and never replied, so I contacted THS support, explained the situation, and they removed the sit for me, so that it didn’t appear on my profile (which I don’t think happens anyway) or their listing. I assume that THS support contacted, or at least tried to contact, the homeowner to confirm. I would suggest that you contact support before the deadline of November 13 in case that has any bearing on your situation.

@sledgejoyce thank you for your advice on a similar situation. I really don’t think homeowners from over three years ago will be too interested in doing anything insofar as this so I shall contact Member Services now to try to avoid this from happening.

I’m not sure if they would even be notified if they are no longer financial members, I doubt it.

On my way to contact NS as we speak :raised_hands::kangaroo:

Hi @ziggy as @sledgejoyce mentioned I would contact MS at support@trustedhousesitters.com as soon as possible as the sits never actually took place.

I have attached other similar threads you might want to have a look at. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @Samox24 I have just emailed support so hope it happens :crossed_fingers::kangaroo:

No email sent to me either. I welcome the changes, but the communication to members is not great.

I did not get any mail either. I guess that might be because I don’t have sits of more than a year ago. I don’t have reviews or feedback to write before that cut-off date.

Hello @Lokstar I shared this quote from the main review thread which should help answer your question:

@weirdholyman Just to reassure you and everyone there will be an email to all subscribed members once the new review system has been officially launched and we will announce it on the forum and in the newsletter as well.

The emails that have gone out are just to any owners or sitters that have an outstanding review (one that needs to be filled in) from over one year ago. If you did not have any outstanding reviews or feedback from that long ago then you won’t yet get an email.

Please see the sitters email here

Please see the owners email here

There will then be a secondary email that will be sent closer to the launch date to all sitters and owners who have an outstanding review or feedback from less than a year ago letting them know that once the new review system is launched they will have 14 days to complete these reviews/feedback.

The official review system has not yet been launched and this is just to help get everything prepared and ready.

Here is the main thread again which will help answer some more questions and has the FAQs New review system - Mega thread

Any more questions feel free to let me know, adding them to the main thread will also be helpful to keep everything together

No email here either @pietkuip and we’ve been sitting over two years!! Hopeless comms THS. Why aren’t these important emails being sent to all members? @Angela_L @Carla @Therese @Jenny - this is a KEY piece of new info :flushed: whether you have an outstanding review or not. It’s the LAUNCH DATE of something we’ve been waiting more than a year (maybe two) for!

Hello @Cuttlefish

Just to clear up any confusion the new review system does not yet have an official launch date.

The 13th of November is the cut-off date to leave a review or feedback for anyone who has one outstanding from over a year ago. This is to prepare for the official launch and once the launch date is announced all members will receive an email and it will be announced on the forum and in the newsletter.

Apologies if there was any confusion, if you see the main review thread linked above I explained about the emails preparing for the official launch on that thread.

The official launch date will be announced soon :tada:

Oh!! Well that’s something @Carla - I thought it was. Thanks for clarifying……we shall wait some more :raised_hands:t3:

The forum title probably needs a tweak as that sounds like it’s coming on the 13th too
