What is happening with regard to the ‘new’ sits filter?
Firstly I thought sits only had the new label for 24 hrs.
Over the last few days when I use the newest filter only 6 out of the first 24 sits I see are new.
Some sits still appear to stay near the top for days even though they are not new.
@Carla - 12 days have passed since my original post.
I checked ‘new’ listings today and I had to trawl through the first 35 listings until I saw a new one. Is this another filter we can’t rely on? I use the site not the app.
@Twitcher I had the sa.e experience last night on the website. Thought I would just have a browse through the newest listings anywhere in the world, so clicked in “Find a housesit” and sort by newest. The first one didn’t have the New label, then a couple did, then many more that didn’t. There should be pages of new listings!
No but I will give it a go and report back. Not had much joy from them in the past getting direct answers to direct questions.
I guess the software has a problem with scaling and keeping up with growth in membership.
How if you do this continent by continent?
I didn’t think you could search by continent @pietkuip? Do you do it via the map? #everydaysaschoolday
They recently added continents.
I don’t use the map. I simply want the ‘new’ filter to give me the new sits first. Not too much to ask surely?
Even weeks. One sit keeps popping up in my searches and still has new on it after a couple of weeks. It’s also nearly always at the top of the search. Can HO’s pay to boost sits??

@pietkuip I did a search for UK sits, sort by newest. The first sit with the “New” label was number 16 - on the second page
@Debbie - I emailed support yesterday regarding this issue. Still awaiting a response.
I used the new sits filter today. The first one was new and the next 24 were old sits before the new ones kicked in again.

Filtered for new sits again today and has to scroll through 37 sits until the first new one came up.
As suggested I contacted support on Friday and again on Sunday. I haven’t even had an acknowledgment that they have received my email or that they are investigating the issue.
@Twitcher, not sure if this is the case for you but with my filters I had about 6 listings at the top without any labels on them and when I checked them out they were all brand new listings i.e no previous sitters (I was on the app). Maybe a glitch over the last few days for the new listings?
I’ve just repeated the test for all UK sits, Sort By Newest
The results were
- 2 New listings that have reviews from previous sitters
- 14 listings without the “New” badge and without any previous reviews visible on the website. I recognise several of them and estimate that they have had live dates for between a few days to a week or more. I have checked one of them on the app and it shows no blank reviews from sitters
- Then multiple pages of sits with the “New” badge - I checked a few and some have reviews, some don’t.
Some of my saved searches are showing new sits correctly. Others have the same problem above, and it is some of the same listing showing without the new badge, at or near the beginning of the results and before other sits that have the new badge.

Hi @Debbie - just to clarify, my search on the website is pretty straightforward. It is simply a daily search of the newest/latest sits anywhere. It isn’t for saved searches.
Still awaiting a response from support.
@Twitcher, I know, I’d done exactly the same previously with similar results. I then changed to all UK sits, as someone suggested to see whether it was the same, and it was.
Shannon’s comment then led me to see if the rogue sits had reviews, and they don’t. I stuck with a whole UK search as I then recognised some of the listings from saved searches and knew they had been live more than 24 hours. This then prompted me to see if my saved searches were behaving in the same way. Some were and some weren’t, but it was some of the same sits that were showing at or near the top of the list without the new badge in each case.
All this testing before support have even responded to you - maybe THS should employ me!

@Carla I also sent an e-mail about this to member services last week as I noticed a similar issue and I also have not had a reply from member services about this issue .
