New to TrustedHousesitters, I was hoping to find someone rather last minute, a sitter suggested this forum

I have sweet Berendoodle and 2 cats. We live in Eagle Co.
Any advice? Seems I started too late or that my location in the mountains is not appealing. (although It’s beautiful and I love it here.)

Edited to remove listing dates from the title as per the Terms of Service.

To get a sitter, you have to create a listing. Then people can respond to it. To do so, you need to be a member.

Many pet owners post last minute sits and find sitters, however it depends on many factors including location, petcare, and all that.

They have a listing, just no applicants yet for a long sit starting in less than a month.

Attach your listing to your forum profile and you will get advice how to make your listing more attractive. There’s also a lot of good advice already on the forum if you browse through. Some little tweaks - better photos, location perk details, offering use of a car - can make all the difference.

Hello @Mollybygolly & welcome :wave:t3: Have found your sit and the gorgeous looking Freida and gang. I think a cute pic of Freida would be better as a cover page to grab attention & maybe the title says “Nature lovers & hikers paradise with easy pets” I know Vail is a draw but your place sounds lovely on its own and it’s not ski season. You need to add a few more things for sitters - how long are the walks and what times? How long can Freida be left alone? Could you offer use of a car? If someone didn’t have a car, could you pick them up and they could manage on foot for the sit? (As no public transport). It looks very sweet and would be tempted if we weren’t booked. Am sure more members will offer help too. #sendingsitterssoon

Ditto! Minewas the result of a minute’s thought, simply to join the forum and find out what it was all about. I wish I’d been a bit more discerning when choosing a username!

I’ve located your listing. The pics look great, but the heading and the wording of the listing need to sparkle a bit more. Maybe use a title such as ‘Outdoor Activity Heaven’.

You say that Freida and the cats sleep in your room, with the cats on the bed with you, is this something which the sitter should replicate? If so, make it clear that it’s a requirement (not all sitters will like this). You say that Freida (who looks gorgeous!) needs 2 walks per day and to ‘be let out in between’. This implies sitters must stay around the property all day, so maybe include how long she can reasonably be left, or whether you prefer that she’s taken out and about by sitters. What’s her recall like? Does she pull on the lead or walk nicely? Does she have any health or behavioural issues or is she pretty easy going? Is the garden securely fenced? Include a bit more info in the listing so that sitters are better informed.

Your amenities list includes a queen and single beds, does this mean you’re open to applications from families? If so, make this clear early in your listing and it may attract more applicants.

Wishing you luck!

Thanks for your reply.
All good info.
