Hi all,
It seems now as though HO’s can change sit dates on a confirmed sit without requiring the sitter to formally reconfirm that this is acceptable. This occurred recently for me with a previously communicated change, but I found it odd and a bit concerning that this wasn’t consistent with previous instances where I would be asked to re-commit. I can see this being an issue with the less organized and perhaps self-motivated HO’s modifying dates and sitters being held accountable for something they may not have agreed to. Has anyone else experienced this?
@KittyKathy have you asked member services about this ? I don’t think that a HO can change the dates of a confirmed sit .

or use the live chat function.
I have had a HO change the dates of a sit at application stage and I could choose to accept or decline.
I’ve not encountered that. And what good would that do hosts if that were the case? The sitter would just end up showing up on the previously agreed-on dates if there was no mutual deal for a change.
No, I haven’t experienced that. I had a host who needed to change the date. After they changed it, the system sent me a request asking if I still wanted to apply for the new date.
I recently applied for a sit and it was confirmed. In the discussions with the HO through the THS inbox it came to light that the owner had got the dates of the listing wrong by one day - she checked with me that it was still ok for me to sit with the date change and I replied that it was .
All of this conversation took place through the THS inbox .
I ( the sitter ) then contacted THS member services directly with screenshots of the THS inbox messages between the HO and myself and asked them to amend the dates to the correct ones . Member service did this .
So it is possible for MS to change dates if contacted by either sitter or HO .
