I’ve just applied to a sit via the app and noticed it’s not showing the number of applicants, which I could always see via the app before. Is this new? 
Yes, this is the latest enhancement. It doesn’t show you the number of applications but for your convenience it reminds you that you’ve already applied for this sit. #allgood

- well a pet parent cancelled our upcoming New York sit yesterday. This last min New York sit had zero applicants when I applied and is now reviewing…fingers crossed we land it or I’ll put in a claim with THS.
Noticed likewise on the web version. Annoying.

Inform THS about the cancellation within 24 hours - otherwise THS may decline to pay out for a claim ( as per T&Cs ) - you can send an e-mail to support@trustedhousesitters.com or phone the 24/7 phone line .
If subsequently you get this sit you won’t need to proceed with the claim .

Once you have made an application you can still send the HO a note even if they have declined you for a sit and the system shows they are reviewing applicants.
Increasingly HO are declining sitters just to increase the pool of applicants they can consider.
From your post it sounds as though you were actually chosen & agreed to the sit formally on THS?
Any chance they shifted the dates and you didn’t notice, confirm you’re still available?
My recommendation: send a polite note asking if you’re still being considered and offering to answer any questions they may have.

Thank you @Silversitters I was in touch with them straight away actually to begin the claim as I didn’t think a last minute sit would pop up. Totally due to reading previous posts on the forum btw!
I just received a very positive reply for this new sit though, which actually would suit us a lot better as it’s more central and for longer so fingers crossed it works out

I’ve just checked both the App and the Website, and I’m still seeing displayed the number of Applicants.
Once you apply to a sit that number disappears-it’s replaced with the message saying that you have applied for the sit !

I have also noticed this “enhancement” over the past few days.
Another frustrating change which removes a feature which was useful. I always like to know how many applicants there are so that I know how many competitors I have
