Anyone else find this annoying/buggy?

It used to show how many applicants or reviewing now it just shows that you have already applied. Very buggy.

THS made the change on the website just over a year ago ( April 24) everyone who commented on the forum about the change agreed with you it’s annoying forum members complained . However it appears THS have decided it’s staying as ā€œan improvementā€

Some commented that you can still see the number of applications on the app -I haven’t checked that out recently to see if that is still the case ?

I do really wish I could see the number of applicants but I also understand that this sort-of protects the HO from sitters becoming indignant over not being chosen. For example, if I am the only applicant an HO receives, and they reject me for whatever personal reason but feel bad explaining why, they might want to say something vague like ā€œI’m sorry, but we’ve gone in another directionā€ and leave it at that. But if I can look and still see that I’m the only application they received, I might get indignant and might even respond to them in a snarky way, along the lines of ā€œI can see that I’m the only person who appliedā€¦ā€ (Of course, I would never do that! But I’m certain there are sitters who would!)

I became a member seven months ago and was able to see it in the mobile app up until recently, but it’s gone now. (I imagine @oztravels mainly uses the app and that’s why they’re posting about it now instead of a year ago.)

Correct. I mainly use the app and I hadn’t realised it’s been discussed before. Sadly another ā€œimprovement ā€œ

Incredibly annoying and frustrating, just like so many other THS ā€˜improvements’.

Agree! It’s nice to know how many applications have been recieved. I don’t understand why they stopped this.

However, it was never ā€œaccurateā€ in terms of the total received. It might for example signal to a sitter going for a London cat sit that there isn’t much time: 4 applicants! But it could mean 5 came in and the host already declined one. So 1 applicant doesn’t mean only one person applied. It means that there are 4 slots open. The host could be systematically declining unsuitable applicants and trying to set up a chat with the one suitable person or waiting to see if more suitable applicants will apply.

Yes. It should show how many applications are in .

You could see it on the app for a while after the change, but not anymore.
