Option to not renew subscription but keep account?

Hi all, I’m coming up to a very busy year so I’m not sure if I’ll be doing much petsitting. When I turn off my automatic renewal in the settings, it says that my account could either be paused and automatically be renewed in 3 months, or I could cancel and lose my account, reviews, etc.

Is there a way I could keep my account but restart my membership and start messaging hosts again when things calm down in my life? It would be a shame to be paying when I’m not using the platform.

Welcome to the Forum!

I know that if you pause your membership, when you log in and renew your membership, all of your profile details will be there exactly as you left them :slight_smile:

I’m just double-checking if your profile details would be gone forever if you cancelled your membership and then renewed it at a later date :slight_smile:

I paused my membership for two years. And when I renewed all my profile, reviews etc. were exactly the same. THS told me they keep our data for two years, so make sure you renew before then.

Just popping back to confirm via MS that if a member cancels their automatic renewal, their account will naturally expire. You can then rejoin at any time, and all your details, photos and reviews will be there to pick up from where you left off.

You need to renew within 2 years because of Data Protection legislation, after that your data gets deleted.

Thanks for this! And when you said you “paused”, did you just keep renewing the “pause”? Because my account says I can pause on June 30th but on Sept 30th it will get automatically renewed unless I cancel my membership. Or did you mean to say you cancelled your membership for two years? Thanks!

I don’t remember a ‘pause’ button. I just didn’t renew. I don’t have automatic renewal payment set up so I just didn’t pay and my membership stopped. Hope that helps.

Hi @Maria01

You can pause your membership once for up to a period of three months within your year’s membership. You also have the option to unpause it any time within that period and continue as you left off :slight_smile:
