@Jenny or anyone who actually knows -
If one pauses their membership when it’s due to renew, when does the countdown for the 90 days begin, the date of the actual renewal or the date that the pause was initiated? So, if my membership renews 8 October and I stop the auto renew and pause it on 2 October, would the 90 days (or whatever the max time is) begin counting down on the 2nd or the 8th?

In that scenario, the pause countdown would begin from 2nd October.
This help page about pausing memberships may help. Here’s a snippet;
“Once paused, your membership renewal date will be moved 3 months into the future. But don’t worry, you can resume your membership early at anytime!”

Okay, I reckon that sort of makes sense but not really! Why would someone pause their active membership that they’re paying for? My immediate thought was that it would just pause once the period of my active membership was ending and the renewal was to happen. That might be something you make very clear to members, it really doesn’t hold any logic, to be honest!
Oh wait, I’ve just looked again at the parameters of the pausing! Sorry about that! So if I wait until the day before my membership is to renew I’ll be okay, then? I don’t have to pause a certain amount of time before renewal?
Correct, your renewal date will simply move back (upto 3 months).
