Pet parents are no longer a member

Hello everyone, could anyone from THS urgently help me out.

I had a sit confirmed on the 23rd March. I only realised today that the pet parent is no longer a member of THS. However, The sit status is still active.

The customer seems is not able to reach the pet parent as they are no longer on this platform. Neither cancel my sit so I can look for an alternative. She says that cancellation must be confirmed from both sides of members at the time she says that per parent are no longer available.

I said they are no longer your member an I am your member - still the same.

The only option they leave me is to wait for the pet parent to renew the membership. When this could be, no body knows.

I said the pet parent might not be aware please contact them. She says she is not able to do that because they no longer a member!

Please can anyone who have common sense reach me out. I am out of words…

I am surprised that you did not have another method of communication set up with them, WhatsApp for example. Did you not do a video call? This is just another reason why video calls are so important, to exchange numbers before agreeing to a sit

I have no issue with pet parents deciding not to carry with membership.

The issue here is The customer service won’t cancel the sit.

Can @Maeve or @Jenny request Membership Services contact this member to clarify the situation. The advice appears confusing.

I agree that the advice received from member services agent contradicts itself .

Either the sit is cancelled - meaning the sitter can apply for another sit OR it’s still confirmed in which case they should be able to message the host through the platform .

It can’t be both confirmed and cancelled at the same time !

My main surprise was that the system allowed the sit confirmation with out taking the payment of membership for the new period. This was never the case with my own membership. I was never allowed to book a sit that overlaps with my membership end dates before the payment upfront. Perhaps things have changed or some sort of glitch in the void….

Or the bank card they had registered for auto renew expired / was cancelled - but we are told that when this happens the other party is notified :thinking:

I had confirmed sits for 4 months past my membership renewal date.

In fact, it created a loop where I couldn’t turn off auto-renewal to keep it from charging me, without asking the hosts to cancel those pre-booked sits.

It sounds like there are different renewal rules for pet parents where the rules are a lot more lenient. I’m glad you got it all sorted out.
