I recently received an email from THS, with “Stripe” as the sender, requesting that I update my payment information. The email mentioned digits from a card that is no longer active. My membership is valid until August, so this seemed unusual, and I have since deleted the email as a precaution. I believe this information should be brought to the attention of the membership department.
Stripe does billing for many businesses, including THS. Of course, we don’t know whether that specific email was legit.
Yeah I’m overly cautious these days plus the card digits was incorrect from my last renewal
I would e-mail THS to be 100% sure. Stripe itself is legit but the person/business using it may or may not be legit.
Plus, you have a lot of time before you need to pony up, so being safe is a good idea.
@Gratitude I think your message was directed to @Catgoddess_99
@Catgoddess_99 We’ll have membership services look into this and they will email you soonest.
Hi Cat, You can never be too over cautious. I have had emails from Paypal re my account etc. Howerver I do not have a paypal account and have nver bought anything using Paypal, so know they are spam. It is all too easy to clone being something when you are not. I also once had spam from a builing society. I phoned their fraud department and they confirmed with me that it was not from them and was in fact spam. I have also received some saying Payment Declined and I think good as had not made any ;paym, ents, so mark as spam. And then I get quotes for car insurance in dollars when I live in the UK. And even, re my job application for Walmart etc. None ever made. Drefinitely best to be too cautious than not enough. I would certainly not wish to give card details etc. if not 100% certain.
@Catgoddess_99, suggest ignore email; logon to ths account via ths website; review your credit card on file. general tech advice
- never click on links in emails
- Always log onto your account via homepage, or primary login page, of company
Yes, thank you.
Thanks all! I did look at my account details, and all my renewals are directed toward PayPal, so it seems likely to be a scam, and that’s why I deleted it. And when I hear back from membership, it will be blocked if not legit.
It seems to be getting worse, so I remain on alert. I do have PayPal, so likely the email was scam
