Premium Subscription Question

Hello All,

I am considering the Premium subscription mainly because I am using THS full-time, and local. I don’t have a permanent residence, so if there is a cancellation, I will need to find housing, probably an Airbnb with limited income. Have any of you had experience with this happening, and how quickly did you get compensated the $150? TIA

@justmoi21

There have been alot of previous threads about this -you can read our experience of a successful claim in this thread along with lots of other advice

@justmoi21, we’ve had two international sit cancellations at last minute. Stuff happens. Was stressful. One resulted in a successful claim under THS Sit Cancellation Insurance, with payment a few weeks later. Worked well but we actively approached eligibility.
Policy terms are quirky and eligibility likely varies hugely depending on geography (other local sits available). If not already done so then encourage read terms carefully.

@justmoi21, not what mean by $150. Policy has US$150 deductible; US$150 max/night for alternative accommodation; US$1500 max payout.
As full-time sitters ourselves, the premium membership is an effortless decision. For us, benefits far outweigh costs. But we often housesit far from home.

Thank you SO much!!!

@justmoi21 After the first year, I chose not to renew my Premium membership.

Experienced three cancellations, and the reimbursement process—including the need to send repeated follow-ups—took months and was unfortunately both protracted and inefficient (still awaiting compensation for one dating back to August).

Moreover, some HOs misunderstood the scope of Premium, assuming that because I had Premium, it afforded them greater flexibility—mistakenly believing that all alternative accommodation costs would be fully covered by THS. This overlooked the fact that $300 is excluded from every claim (first night and cancellation fee)

In my case, Premium unfortunately introduced more complications than it resolved
