hello @ZenfitSteph :cowboy_hat_face:
I took a look at your profile.
Your references are really good. My suggestion is you lean more into those and what you’re capable of rather than what you aren’t capable of. Riding horses wouldn’t be a normally expected task in my opinion, so I wouldn’t mention that at all. Your profile reads rather informal and I wouldn’t use “lol” on your profile, it doesn’t come across as serious. The photos are okay, the first is a good clear shot of you and a cats paw, the second is a blurry photo and the third a cat and a dog. More pictures of you interacting with animals is probably better and a clear photo of your face for people to see. Are you an organised sort of person, are you clean and tidy? Those can be important points to mention. I dont see how your daughter’s skill sets are relevant and how your children raise their children. I found that rather odd to add to be honest. I hope my comments are instructive and of use to you. Good luck.

  • More pics. Preferably ones that show that you’re interacting with the pet in some way. I personally don’t like taking pics of myself but I have pics of pets in my lap, sitting on my head, nose to nose with my face, etc to show our interactions.
  • The “grandmother, fit, active, pet lover” should be more of a sales pitch. You being a grandmother has nothing to do with your ability to pet sit so you should not spend real estate on it as that’s one of the first things HOs see.
  • The 3rd paragraph on how your kids/grandkids are raised is irrelevant and I’d remove it. At most I’d add to the paragraph above about the different types of pets you’ve cared for “and I learned a lot from my daughter, who went to school for dog training and grooming.” or something similar.
  • I wouldn’t mention horses. Horse sits are rare and on the odd chance you apply for one, you’d want to outline your experience in your application anyway. No need to include that in your listing as it just makes it longer than necessary.
  • You should bulk out both the about and why sections and absolutely remove the “stay for free” part as it makes you look like you’re only interested in a free holiday rather than caring for the pets. There is currently an influx of new members who are joining for the wrong reasons due to misleading marketing and it’s creating a bit of a negative vibe and experience on both sides. I’m sure you don’t want to get caught up in that.

Brilliant feedback & I love how both parties had a lot of the same things to add, I’ve made those changes & will now try & find a few more pics even if they’re not great shots of me & the pets I’ve sat for.

oh, more pics, yes, I totally suck at getting pet photos with me, I have a ton without me. And the next time I sit, I will be sure to make time to get ones with me, my daughter told me, have a treat or food in my hand, it helps lol, if you have any tips on photos with pets , I’d love to hear them

Thank you for your honesty & tips, I’ve listened to them all.
The profile pic with me in the pink top seems to fully clear on my end. It’s actually a profile pic I use often. If you don’t mind can you double check?

THS has a habit of destroying photo quality when they’re uploaded. I’d delete it and try again. This is what it looks like to me - which you can see is blurry and pixelated. have you looked at your profile through the link we’re using vs the profile preview? Then you might see it directly.

@CreatureCuddler has excellent feedback. I’d add that you are a non-smoker if you don’t smoke. That’s something that some hosts tell me they look for when they are reviewing sitters. You don’t want to be eliminated from the start if you don’t smoke and it’s not there.

That’s the way the pic looks
It’s cause it was taken with me far away & then I did a close up removing the full body view.
I guess my old eyes don’t see it as alarming lol - sorry I do write lol a lot

Don’t know whether this matters: If someone is using a blurry photo, hosts might think they’re trying to look younger and wonder why. I mention that, because many people who use dating apps have noted that users often misrepresent how recent photos were to disguise their ages.

I’d work on getting a better head shot then because this one is too blurry, IMO.
