Question: why send alerts for sits that are under review

Hello  @pietkuip @Saltrams @Keldin

Just to myth bust this one, the alerts are sent to all members the same, no group of members including staff see any alerts first.

Staff have to apply for a sitting opportunity the same as everyone else on the platform. Personally, it took me quite a few applications to get my first sit and we often get declined for sits we apply for as does everyone else.

Many of the team are sitters and owners as well and use the product exactly the same as our members. I am always happy to answer any questions and feel free to DM me

@Carla - I also read in the job description that employees can offer up to five free premium sitter/homeowner memberships to friends and family. Not sure if that is employees at all levels but certainly on the two current vacancies.
Some lovely perks, pity I am a retired old timer

@Twitcher Yes, there are some other great perks and many have been recent introductions like you spotted. You never know, keep an eye out and maybe a part-time vacancy of interest might pop up

@Carla1 - those days have definitely gone and they wouldn’t consider an old cynic like me

But I do not think they are all sent at the same time.

I propose some “citizen research” here: we need a willing homeowner whom lots of us could mark as a favourite. Then they let their dates go live at a pre-announced time. And we keep an eye on exactly with what delay we get our notification.

Of course that would not tell us what happens when a listing has many favourites, the ones that were marked thousands of times. I suspect that there the delay between the first and the last notification would be a lot longer. And that is of course the case of interest, when tle last notification comes too late.

@pietkuip Please see Ben’s post from another topic discussing this the system is set up to send notifications hourly for saved searches. I hope that helps answer your question.

@pietkuip happy to help collect data. Let’s face it. They’re probably in my favourites already!:rofl::rofl:

@Carla No. Now I want to know about the timing of notifications for favourites.

The hourly notifications that come for Saved searches will always be too late for the most popular sits, the sits that thousands of members had marked as a favourites.

@pietkuip I found this on a previous thread from Membership Services

There is a previous discussion on this thread, which might help answer some more questions  Saved Search emails and notifications arriving too late
