I read on a previous post that it is possible to view the reviews that homeowners have given to other house sitters who have sat for them. This would be invaluable to me as a housesitter when considering whether to apply for a house sit- it would give me a good indication of what the house owner expects and any issues they have had with previous sitters so I can decide if they would apply to me. I have searched this option on the site but cannot seem to find how to locate the homeowners reviews of previous sitters. Can anyone enlighten me please?
On the HOMEOWNERS profile, you will see the reviews that previous sitters have left, and notice the date.
Simply click on the previous sitters icon and glance at that SITTERS profile.
Scroll down the sitters reviews to the date you noticed earlier to find the review from the owner you are looking for… if they left one.
I think it gives more color to the picture. You can see if they give reviews (at all) and I think a review given says volumes also about the person who writes it. It can and should be truthful, but the point of view and the words one use say much.
For instance, I saw a review-exhange where the communication on leaving hadn’t been good enough and the sitter had put the laundry in the washing machine before leaving, as it seemed. The HO went absolutely ballistic and rewarded * on all . Seemed a gross overreaction for a wet towel. But useful. If one choose to give the HO another chance, be sure to agree what to do with the laundry.
@CJKeets follow @Debbie instructions but best to do this on the app (not desktop) because on the app you will see ALL previous sitters whether they left a review for the HO or not. The app gives you more info. If a sitter did not give the HO a review there will be a blank space under their name on the host ‘past sitters’. But if the HO did not give the sitter a review then that sit/& dates will be completely absent from the sitter page. Like the sit never happened! Only the sitter themself will see the gaps on their own profile.
I think I might have caused some confusion. I am keen to see the reviews that homeowners have left for sitters who have sat for them. Not by sitters who have sat for the home owner. Is that clearer?
Do as @HappyDeb suggests, that is how you get to see the HOs review to the sitter. As she says - go to the HOs page etc. That is the yellow brick road.
You mean reviews from a particular host? You’ll need to start on the host’s listing, as Garfield suggested. Or any host for a particular sitter? Then… ah, you’ll find out
No there’s no confusion @CJKeets , follow the steps I wrote. That’s how you see the owners reviews, you go to the sitters profile page that have sat for them previously, you can’t see the owners reviews on the owners profile page at all. See below:-
