Glasgow. Still. Just back from my morning walk along the river Clyde, just outside the city centre. It’s a lovely Spring morning, for a change, It has been wet and windy most of this week. Some covid restrictions lifted in Scotland yesterday, so I can now meet 3 friends, from 2 different households, outside. Now I just need to find 3 friends…
No pets at weekends, Monday to Friday only just now.

I’m in my home with Tahoe, my young dog, 11 months old since yesterday.
He has changed so much since I adopted him, then 3 months, his nose is sharper, his color is ginger when he was pale beige. How strange !

In Provence, the lavender fields are not at all in flowers like on your photo Angela, we need to wait until july for that. They look different today ! See some bushes below.

The garden is nicer day after day. Flowers are bursting. Spring is already there. My husband has been vaccinated yesterday, will be again in a month time. Being younger, I have to wait.

Nevertheless, I plan to do a new sit with 3 cats, 48 km from home, next week-end for an australian lady who is an owner and a sitter. Like me. She needs sitters quite often in order to visit her son who lives in the Alps.
So it’s easy for me to drive over there, an opportunity which gives me more references.

I do need conjugal breaks, entertainment is rare with Covid !

This weekend marks the 1st anniversary of being in Cove, Scotland … A full time sitter I came here after flying back from the States where we due to launch TrustedHousesitters Ambassador Program and City by City Campaign, which came to an abrupt halt.

No travel or sits for 12 months and this has been my daily “office” view

One blessing and if we can find a positive in this the most challenging year of everyone’e life, it is a blessing, COVID put me where I was meant to be as I have been able to help “raise” my first and only granddaughter Grace who is now 7 months old … although I do think puppies are easier:))

Are pupppies easier than babies ? I never had kids so I have no experience, but I doubt. My puppy is still biting walls, although he has his permanent teeth, tearing cushions, screaming sharply when I left him in the car for 10 minutes (in the shadow) or alone in the garden. A nightmare.
None of my previous dogs has ever behaved like him. “Hyper attachement”

He’s sweet and does not bark when somebody walks near the gate, he loves other dogs and any people, he is able to play alone (as long I’m not far), he obeys orders (he has been to a dog school which cost a fortune) but I wonder what will happen when I go to Denmark next july (I’m optimistic…) leaving him in hands of a danish famiy with whom we shall exchange during a fortnight…

My sitters last summer kept a 3 months old pup who was sleeping a lot. I wonder how my next sitters will react ! My neighbours begin to hate me…

The view you have @Angela-CommunityManager is amazing. When you will be back to B.C (let’s be optimistic) please give me the name of your daughter, we would be delighted to rent such a home

Angela and the Team

We’re back in Norfolk after recently finishing a 10 week Sit in Wales. We managed to get a rental as our family that do have room are vulnerable and would be breaking the lockdown rules. Needed to be back for our jabs. Definitely missing pet company already can’t wait for our next Sit which sadly isn’t until mid April. Stay safe everyone :purple_heart:

Arrived in Gijon in Asturias in November for a 4 month sit for 2 cats which has now stretched into an 8 month sit with the home-owners unable to return until June. The longest I’ve lived anywhere during the last 7 years of full-time house-sitting. Consider myself very lucky to be in a lively town with the benefits of a beautiful coastline and surrounded by mountains with secure accommodation during these challenging times.

Hi Wendy. The pets are not too sad to have been “abandoned” by their owners ? It must be a nice experience to live abroad so long in the same home

I know this will be sad news for many people who love their pets and hate to leave them but in 7years I’ve only had one small dog that pined for a couple of days. Most animals including these two cats are perfectly happy if they are being loved and fed and for cats, to having taught the new servant their preferred routines. Given the current circumstances I consider myself very fortunate to have secure accommodation although I have to admit to beginning to have very itchy feet and to looking forward to the next new adventure.

Well lavender can be very nice too upper in northern Europe (compared to Provence)
I know that as i thought it would be nice to bring a fresh bush of lavender to the HO of my first sit through THS. In 2019. And noticed once arrived in their home, in Costwolds; their house was surrounded by lavender…
