Hi @KevSteve Andy is absolutely adorable! I’m just so happy you were there to stop him from getting in to any bother :dog::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Bittersweet. I’m going to miss this darling boy when I leave tomorrow. His humans and I’ve gotten along really well, too. I’ve also experienced a bit of London, less from a traveler perspective and more as a local. This sit has been my best THS experience so far. I can afford London vacations, but only THS could’ve given me this heartwarming experience.

He looks like he’d love cuddles

He’s selective about cuddles. Especially in the morning, he likes to be cradled like a baby, but not for long.

He loves being brushed. Petting, selectively. He prefers to initiate. Like he butts his head against your knuckles if you just leave your hand out and let him approach. Otherwise, he’ll gently tap you with his paws if he wants attention or company. Sometimes, he wants you to follow him into another room so you can sit while he watches you from under a table or chair, LOL.

He also likes to follow and wait while you go to the bathroom or kitchen. It’s a small flat and he’ll wait in the hallway. Sometimes I tease and say, Eugene, you’re such a gentleman, waiting to escort me.

He picked his current humans after rejecting the one who originally rescued him. A quirky and choosy little fellow.

His primary human is Italian. Right now, Eugene and I are listening to opera, because he likes it. Randomly, he likes some of the same music that I do.

Ok not pets I’m tending to but they sure made me smile. Apparently they tend to congregate on my street in the evening.
One had a Joey in pouch!

Mittens might be jealous?

This little 12 week old fella is Basil. It’s literally all we’ve been doing since I got here Friday.

Am trying to get a grip and function… but honestly, do you blame me?

“There’s Always Hope” :horse:  :horse:

About 10 years ago I was on an 8 month sit near Malaga, Spain and while on the sit I looked for volunteer opportunities and found ARCH Horse rescue (horses, much less chance of being that failed volunteer who takes home a homeless dog or cat right?)

I’m now on a sit in Solihull, near B’Ham and Saturday took time to go and see Hope, the pony I adopted while volunteering in Spain, a failed volunteer after all.

Two badly abused Welsh Mountain ponies arrived at the centre two days after I started, we called them Hope & Valiente and they became “my” ponies. I was determined to help them heal, physically and emotionally.

Trusting humans again would be the hardest ask for them both but gradually with love and patience they began to trust again … it was a very long and difficult road.

Sadly we lost Valiente recently to colic.

Their full story is on the blog

I brought Hope to England, from Spain 4 years ago and don’t get to see her as often as I would like, Ludlow is quite a drive from Scotland but she’s living her very best life in the Shropshire Hills loved and cared for by those who own the specialized livery yard we found for her.

As result of the abuse Hope is blind but she now has Roxy a little Shetland who is her eyes and constant companion.

On Saturday I called “Hope!!” … She recognized my voice … I had tears.

Remember, there’s always Hope :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :horse:
