@Karen4 Oh bless him!
He looks like my new little mate that I rescued and have now become friends with, whilst on Holiday on Magnetic Island Australia. His name is Andy. I am now back home and missing Andy terribly. I can’t wait to go visit him again very soon. He is 1 year old. The morning I found him Criss crossing roads, whilst major road construction works were taking place, I watched him as I could see he had no road sense but no one was trying to catch him.
Realising he’d obviously ran away from home like I used to do on my Nanna, as a naughty 5 year old, I managed to chase him down (lol) and catch him in my arms. Heavy little bugger Andy was.
After contacting his beautiful Mum, my new friend Meredith, I had to literally carry him for a kilometre to get back to where I was staying. I had only just arrived on the island about an hour prior at 10am.
Meredith was actually back on the mainland and wouldn’t be getting back to the Island until 7pm.
Best thing was, me and Andy were already best buddies and sitting down to Roast Chicken when Meredith did ring me back worried sick about Andy. I assured her that Andy had made my day and I was more than happy to have him for the day. As such, we had our roast chicken n salad lunch. Had a rest in the shade and then went for a walk along the beach.
The only thing I could find to use as a lead was an old telephone cable so it was exactly easy walk-in the boisterous young boy lol.
Honestly I miss Andy terribly now and often look back at the many happy snaps I kept taking, to show his Mum that he was very happy. That’s in addition to a weekly text message to Andy and a nice response back from him and his Mum. I hope I can add the pics of this gorgeous boy.
Oh I still adore our GertieGert and GeorgieGirl.
Ahh thanks for sharing your story about Andy, @KevSteve. Am sure the degree you miss Andy is equal to the mutual bond made.
I’ve already thought about a present to mail him for a Christmas lol.
