Sitter MIA

We confirmed with a sitter (after 2 zoom calls) about six weeks ago and they are now supposed to start the sit in under 24 hours, and we haven’t heard from them. They last communicated with us a month ago and up to that point they had been extremely communicative. We reached out yesterday through trustedhousesitters to re-confirm the time of their arrival and today have also texted them and still no response. We are getting on a plane in 24 hours and are now worried they are just not going to show up. Have other people had this happen? What did you do?

That does not sound good!

So with Zoom, you would not have gotten their phone number, I guess. If it had been Whatsapp, you could have made a voice call. But maybe you could find their number with some internet sleuthing?

Otherwise, Membership Services should have contact details and then they could make a call on your behalf I believe.

@Akld sorry to hear of your predicament-I hope member services will be able to help you but it seems rather late in the day to have involved them . If you had contacted them a week ago it would have given them more time to contact the sitter .

Has the sitter got your address from you ?

Hi @Akld sorry to hear you are having difficulty contacting your sitter with less than 24 hours to go. As others on here have said you need to contact Membership Services and their email address is support@trustedhousesitters.com and mark the email in the title as URGENT.
My fingers are crossed for you :crossed_fingers:t2:

You said you texted them so I’m assuming you have a mobile number for them? If so call them. Actual real old-fashioned phone call. Do it now.
If you cannot get hold of them leave a voicemail and then get hold of THS. Use the chat robot thing on the THS website and tell it you want to speak to a human until it connects you to one.
Where are you located?

Thank you all for your concern and suggestions. I’m happy to report the sitter has been in contact and confirmed arrival later today. Feeling so much relief!
