Stars given

Does anyone know how to change the stars given after a sit?. I gave my pet owner 5 stars in all categories but must have forgot to mark the stars on the heading which lead them to having just one! That wasn’t my intention and I would like to change it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Catherine

If you contact membership services and explain that you made a mistake in the star rating, they are able to change it for you. A homeowner we sat for made a similar mistake, and they were able to get it changed.

If you use the chat option to contact membership services, ask to speak to a human as “Frankie” the chat bot likely won’t understand!

Definitely contact member services. Or send an email to the support email address. support@trustedhousesitters.com

With that said, from our understanding, once a review is submitted, THS is unable to change the actual star ratings in any category…only the review context and wording. Has anyone had success being able to change the stars? THS told us they are only able to amend the actual review wording and that stars were set after posting.

Not sure if this is what you are referring to but as a sitter with almost 50 - 5 star reviews, when I look at our profile it only shows one star beside the amount of reviews underneath our heading. I’ve just looked at some other sitter profiles as well - same thing - one yellow star showing right beside the number of reviews.

Membership services will change the stars if it is obvious that it is a mistake, and if it is requested by the person who made the mistake. So if all categories are rated 5 but the overall rating is 1 and the review text makes it clear that they didn’t intend to give a 1 star overall rating.

They won’t make changes to wording, and they won’t, for example change a 5 star to a 4 star because the other party only gave them a 4 star. It has to be a clear and obvious mistake, not a “change of mind” after reading the other party’s review of them.

Thank you Debbie, that makes sense. It has now been updated and I feel much better for it.

Thank you for your reply. If you read Debbie’s reply she says the opposite and it is what the admin did to help. Changed the stars but not the wording. She explains it much better though. Seasonal Greetings

It’s a common problem as the default is one star which you have to manually change. Support services will change it if you email them and explain. You are definitely not the first person who has done this and you won’t be the last.

Thank you Crookie, it has been solved but you made me feel better pointing out that it is a common mistake.

Given that one-star reviews are a relatively rare occurance, this problem could be easily resolved if the system had a prompt to check the number of total stars or check one stars or check if there is a big decrepency between stars in categories and overall star score. “You’re giving the sitter a 1-star score even though you gave the sitter 5-stars in each category. Is that correct?”
