Temporarily Adding My Daughter

Hello - My daughter & I would like to visit the UK this fall & it would be fun to do a couple sits while we’re there. The problem is she is not on my profile, I would like to add her temporarily for that time to let the HO know we’ll be traveling together. Does anyone know if there is an ability to temporarily add a significant other to your profile?

Just make a mention on your listing. Others have just told a little bit about a co-sitter in their listing, a photo together if possible. Then mention in application and preferably offer a video-call with co-sitter before confirming. Being transparent and let the host get to know you both as you would for yourself.

It is quite easy, really. Best of luck!

Thank you so much, I was concerned if my daughter who is barely 20 hasn’t been screened thru THS if that would be a show stopper, thank you again for this info.

For the time you will be applying to sits together you can make adjustments to your profile so people can see right away you are traveling with someone else…

If you go to ‘edit profile’ and then ‘profile details’ you are able to indicate you are traveling with someone. Then you will see fields below to add info about them such as name, age, etc… You can then edit your profile to talk about both of you. And you can just change it all back when you are no longer traveling together.

The second person on a profile is not screened like the primary account holder so adding her won’t require you to take any steps in that regard.

Perfect, thank you so much, truly appreciate!

My daughter who just turned 21 has done about 15 sits with me (of my 50+ sits). She’s not on my profile (although I do have one picture with both of us). I just state in the application that we are travelling together and I provide some information about her similar to what I would put in a profile.

Also, so you know, you can’t add someone as an adult if they are not 21. At one point I was going to add her but since she wasn’t 21 yet, I could only add her as a child and then my profile came up as 'travelling with children".

Since I’m travelling full-time, for me it works best not to have her on my profile since the majority of sits are just me. She joins me when she has university breaks. I haven’t had any issues with just adding her in the application letter. Most hosts thinks it’s great that we get to travel together so much!

You can just add her to the description section in your profile. Feel free to take a look at mine. I list all three of my kids
