Tips from a woman who traveled to every country

This as-told-to essay is based on conversations with 33-year-old Cassie De Pecol, a travel influencer who previously held the Guinness World Record for traveling to every country in the world in the fastest time in 2017 (her record has since been broken).

Thanks for sharing @mars what an incredible adventure that must have been.

This part was my favorite…
“Hoping her insight would help motivate tourists to learn about new cultures, Cassie partnered with the International Institute of Peace through Tourism as a peace ambassador and produced a series of weekly YouTube videos. These allowed viewers following her journey to learn about the cultural norms of that nation, as well as highlighting activities to seek out should they be inspired themselves to visit the country in question.”

Congrats on the record. however
559 days - (at least) 100 days traveling / 195 countries = 2.3 days per country (incl sleeping)
Nah, 1.5 days in a country won´t give much insight into new cultures

Apart from stamps in a passport, what records do you keep?

Exactly. We’ve been travelling for over 15 years and have only explored 135 so far.
